Tasted on 2/7/14 from a bottle at the Friday night tasting at RBWG Asheville, big thanks to Leighton for sharing. Pours dark oily brown with an average brown head that leaves an average collar of lace. The nose is dry coffee, chocolate brownie, along with some vanilla and coconut oak. The flavor is the same with the chocolate brownie, and even a bit more oak than the nose. The body is full with just under average carbonation and a long bourbon brownie finish. Overall, not the darkest stout, more focused on milk chocolate than coffee or dark roast.

7.4% ABV bottle from Rehills, Newcastle. This jet black beer pours with a rapidly disappearing tan head. It has a very strong vanilla and whisky flavour with a very smooth creamy mouthfeel followed by a milk chocolate and oaked spicy fruity and warming vanilla finish.

Pours opaque black, nice and thick. Small head develops but relatively calm. The nose shows some smoke and hints of wood from the barrel. The palate is lightly carbonated but mostly thick and extremely smooth. A lot of smoky flavor but also a great sweetness that appears very reminiscent of adzuki red beans. Reminds a lot less of its original breakfast stout identity unlike the Jim Beam Barrel aged Broken Dream. But stands on its own differing from the others.

Pitch black and a fizzy beige head. Lots of whisky barrel in the aroma, vanilla, oakiness, roasty, dark chocolate. Taste is big whisky, rich, smooth, silky, quite full-bodied, boozy. Very nice.

Bottle from Rehillís of Jesmond. Pors black with a good tan head. Quite a sour aroma that suggests this isnít in the best condition despite being well within date. The taste has sour cherry, smoke, bourbon and some coffee and chocolate. A little thin. Iím pretty sure this didnít taste as intended, but was still not bad. Will have to try some of the other editions to check.
