Draught. I think that this is the first draught barley wine I’ve ever had. Anyway, it’s a clear golden brown. Thin sudsy head. Smell - sherry, dates, indistinct fruits, soap. Mid body. Taste is in 3 stages - starts watery and mild, then liquorice and alcohol, finishes astringent bitter herbs and a slight caramel. The more you drink, the more the bitter herbs become prominent. Some good qualities particularly the smell but the taste isn’t setting the world alight.

Cask at the Craft Beer Co 2nd Birthday Bash - 29/06/13. Lightly hazed golden amber with a medium size off white head. Nose is hops, burnt sugars, caramel, boozey, grapefruit, bitter orange. Taste comprises a booze soaked tropical fruit sundae, caramel, brown sugar, orange pith, big hoppy backbone, toffee fudge. Full bodied, soft carbonation, light booze and sweet in the finish. Craft islington. Cask. Hazy deep amber beer, little off white head. Palate is smooth and semi dry. Semi sweet malt, quite smooth. Good marmalade hops, rich and fairly bitter. Sweeter pine provides balance. Sweet orange develops before the semi dry finish. Good bitter linger.
