Cask, Keg & Bottled; Special - June to August 2013.
Note: Although the bottle is labelled 2.7%, itís actually 2.8%, same as ther draught.

The goal was to create a beer with flavour, balance and body at only 2.8%, a Quarter IPA, QIPA if you will. Heavily hopped but with low bitterness this beer pops with notes of mango and grapefruit and is the perfect summer beer.

Pours a murky light-amber colour with a white, bubbly head which fizzles down to a small layer on top of the beer. Aroma is mango, passionfruit. Taste is initially citrusy like grapefruit, blood orange then mango with a smooth yet weak finish (as expected for this low-alco beer). Nice and not too watery, could enjoy many of these on a school night.

On tap at Whatís Brewing. A dense, two-finger high off-white head forms over an unclear orange-colored body. The aroma has citrus peel, pine cones and a malty touch. Quite a lot of pine cones actually, but overall a tad weak. It has a medium body fullness, itís dry and softly carbonated, with a good bitterness. Lasting finish. A refreshing and easy drinkable beer that avoids the aroma and flavor of bread dough so many beers at this ABV has. 141101

Bottle 50 cl. Pours a clear golden with a lively white head. Fresh citrusy hops in the nose, perhaps a tad metallic. Thin-bodied - naturally - a little fruitiness but otherwise itís all about the hops. Leaves a dry finish with the good aroma hops dominating. 150115

Bottle bought @ HemkŲp Majorna. Pours tiny hazy orangish golden with a frothy offwhite head that leaves lots of sticky lacing and trace on the glass while dissipating. Smell is fruity with bread, grapefruit juice, mango, moist grass, pine needles, minerals and lemon zest. Taste is bitter, grassy and tiny fruity with bread, grapefruit juice, mango, freshly cut grass, chives, pine needles, grapefruit pith, orange peal and lemon zest. Mouthfeel is soft, mealy, astringent and medium bodied. Finish is bitter with bread, grapefruit juice, freshly cut grass, chives, pine needles, grapefruit pith and lemon zest. For 2.8% itís amazing and I suspect it turns even fruitier fresh. Impressive for what it isÖ

500 ml bottle from NK Saluhall, Stockholm.
Amber, hazy body, with a big, frothy, white head, that dissipates quickly.
Juicy aroma of citrus, grapefruit, tropical fruits, grass, caramel.
Tastes of grapefruit, tropical fruits, grass, pine, biscuit.
Light, slick mouthfeel, with a lively carbonation.
Finishes bitter, dry, zesty, grassy, a bit piney and even with some dough like yeast notes.

Really tasty for this low ABV! Very sessionable, but also very aromatic, with a nice hop bite. Light mouthfeel of course, but balanced by a nice zesty bitterness and an almost Belgian like dry finish. One of the best Session IPAs Iíve had so far!

500ml bottle from Beer Dock, Crewe. Pours hazy golden with white froth. In your face grapefruit aroma. Plenty going on with light fruits and well balanced bitter finish. A little thin but fantastic for the strength.

On cask @ the Stockbridge Tap. This was 2.9%. Appearance - golden with a slight haze and a nice creamy head. Nose - lovely big mango note then grapefruit coming behind. Taste - more of the same but less rewarding than the nose. Palate - well itís light and clean and tastes big for the strength, but as expected for the strength, it finishes quickly. Overall - yeah, a great session pint.
