This is an awesome collaboration with Mikkeller and Hill Farmstead. It will mess with your mind as an IPA designed to mimic Limoncello. A slightly sour mash, combined with Lactose for sweetness, tonnes of lemon Zest and hopped to death with Sorachi Ace and Citra. Bottle, cask and keg.

330ml bottle from Ales by Mail

BBE 31st April 2015 - Pours clear yellowish orange with a tiny white head. Aroma of zesty lemon peel, bubblegum, citrus, tart fruits and yogurt notes. Taste is lactic sourish, hoppy and zesty with loads of citrus, lemon, hints of bubblegum and tart fruits. Finish is zesty, sour and tart with loads of fruitness and some hoppiness. Quite interesting combination, but not quite there. Lactic sourness doesn’t quite fit in, but this would be awesome with some Bretta thrown in.

Flaska köpt på Systembolaget, Boländerna. Doften är full av humle blandat med lite citron. I smaken tar citronen över betydligt och balanserar inte särskilt snyggt. Ingen höjdare. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Tap at Mijkeller in SF. Nails the limoncello in the aroma. A nice finish but more of a dessert wine like beer.

Tart lemon aroma with some citrusy hops. The flavor is sweet and sour, lemonade and bitter hops. Crisp and dry. Very nice.

Having missed the original release of this in London by just days a few years ago I was excited to see it on the shelves at Party Source. Despite a slightly high price point and the risk that the bottle would lack the freshness of a draft version I rolled the dice. The resulting experience proves that London’s up and coming IPA scene can stand on its own merits with almost anywhere else in the world.

Aroma / Appearance - A dense coppery body pours with some resistance. Leaving a trail of clear lacing behind, the growing offwhite ivory head blossoms to provide a nice shelter. Grapefruit, yeast, and bursts of citrus open up the air with a fruity bitterness. A latent stickiness binds to the air molecules rather than fading quickly.

Flavor / Palate - A chewy maltiness sits at the core of this solid imperial IPA. Yeast and lemon peels tickle the tongue. Grapefruit offers a nice tang which slowly unfolds into a bitter piney finish. Tasting like a cocktail infused with hops, the flavor profile sets this apart. Much like The Last Word and other beers that try to mimic mixed drinks it does a fantastic job of remembering its roots while pushing the envelope. If you find a fresh bottle do not hesitate.

Bottle shared with Paul. Pours a golden body with thick white head and lasting lacing. Aroma is lemon candy, light citric hop, sweet citrus fruits and sugar. Mouthfeel is medium with noticeable bittering character upfront and notes of sweet lemon desert squares, bitter lemon hop, citrus syrup and light grapefruit. Light zest and lots of sugar. Good.

Draft sample. Poured clear copper color with an average fizzy white head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Medium to heavy complex citrus hop aroma. Medium to full body with slick texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy bittersweet citrus flavor with a medium to heavy bittersweet finish of moderate to long duration. This is a solid beer.
