2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle from the Red Squirrel Chesham Brewery Shop. Poured a cloudy yellow, with a dense, white head. Yeasty aroma, with notes of dry grain and lemon. Initial flavours of citrus hop, bread and brown sugar. Finish was biscuity malt, grapefruit and very, very bitter, astringent resin. If this were draught, I might have assumed that they had got to the bottom of the barrel.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. A slow gusher producing a dense, off-white head over an unclear, orange-golden body. The aroma has a nice bretty touch, citrus and some leather and farmhouse notes. A faint malty touch as well. There’s a nice citrusy bitterness in the flavor, with some pale malts, quite a lot of grapefruit and pine cones. Full body and a pleasant carbonation level. Lasting bitter finish. Doubt the brett is intended, but it certainly suits the beer. Dangerously easy drinkable, and also tasteful. 140315
