A hophead's delight! Our proud flagship ale, big & flowery with a long and lingering finish.

Pours copper/orange, with a foamy tan head that lasts for about a minute. The aroma is more sweet than hoppy. Definitely picking up a hearty malt presence, with the hops never quite taking center stage. This is quite tasty, but doesn’t grab my attention.

Draft @ the brewpub. Pours a clear amber color with a small off-white head. Has a malty hoppy grapefruit aroma. Malty bitter hopy grapefruit flavor with some hints of pine needles. Has a malty bitter hoppy grapefruit finish.

Bottle. A friend of mine brought home a six-pack from a west coast road trip. Pour is a hazy dark orange/amber with a small head. Faint aroma of caramel and herbal hops. Flavor of piney, herbal hops, slightly metallic and astringent.

this beer looks great with a toffee/orange hue and a dense, oily, creamy head like vanilla pudding. looking down the list a bit, i agree with much of what fakepurseninja says: biscuit malt and a little oily and astringent. the hop character never gets out of control with the generous pale malt backbone, maybe if i got something more fresh it would have more distinct segments, but still very good.

medium brown pour with lots of fluffy head - aroma of caramel and citrus but a little musty - flavor is a big malty backbone with some nice citrusy hops, peppery hoppy aftertaste lingers long before leading to a slight caramel taste

To sum it up: I beg to differ. Wonderful, cloudy amber profile with bits of hops floating around. Big biscuit malt proflie with a strong caramel sweetness along with generous amounts of toffee and honey. Hops are also in abundance with a huge floral pine and orange citrus presence. A litte oily and astringent, alcohol definetly present. A fantastic IPA, borderline IIPA, that must rank among the best for those available in sixers.

12oz bottle pours medium dark brown. Nose of syrupy caramel malt and stewed oranges and pineapple hop notes... lacks pungency and freshness. Flavor is more stewed fruit, with some stewed celery flavors as well. Caramel malt, plain, boring overall.

Bottle: Caramel in color, slight haze, moderate sandy colored head, decent lacing.   Nose of Lemonade or Lemon/Lime Koolaid, along with some slight overcooked vegetable.   Hop presense is minor.   Astringent orange rind bitterness up front, very minor sweetness, along with that Koolaid powdery flavor that best resembles the Lemonade of Lemon/Lime flavor.   Ugh... okay.   Average body and mouthfeel.   Finishes a bit better than it starts, but this one isnt juicy at all.   Its a Pale Ale at best.   Odd powdery sweetness somewhat detracts.   Blech... a bit of the overcooked vegetable emerges after the finish.   Not all that interesting.
