Uber fresh draft at Obriens. Dark brown with ruby highltights, minimal head with light lacing, good clarity. Nose is coffee grounds and espresso, Starbucks style. Flavor is pure coffee grounds with a hint if dark chocolate, moderate roast and bitterness, faint grassy hop flavors, finishes lightly sweet and roasty. Light-medium body, moderate carbonation, watery. Super fresh coffee stout reiminiscent of Founders, love the roast and bittering here!

Another unimpressive porter from Six Rivers. This was the only beer that I gave a 5 for appearance though as I thought it looked exactly like it should in the glass. Good head and some lacing left on the glass. Very watery palette and not a ton of the coffee or chocolate flavor I was waiting for.

~Strong coffee scent with chocolate malts. ~Pours black with ruby tones. Creamy brown head. ~Smooth coffee flavor with chocolate malts. ~Med full body, light CO2, bitter coffee finish. ~Good coffee brew! I like this a tad better than the Moonstone.

Tap at Belmont Station... Poured black with amber highlights and a thin head. Aroma of sweet coffee liquor and roasted grains. Acidic palate with coffee flavors and roasted malt all ended with a dry finish.

GABF sample bottle. Poured a deep brown color with some dark red highlights around the edges and a thin beige head that faded to a ring. Aroma of coffee grounds, expresso, some dark chocolate, and roasted malts. Smooth, somewhat thing entry with some dark chocolate leads into a nice roasted coffee flavor with some expresso and a touch of vanilla bean. Finishes moderately sweet with some coffee undertones. Low carbonation, smooth but a bit thin on the palate. Overall, a nice surprise.

GABF sample bottle. Black colored stout with a large light tan head. Very nice aroma, which gives hints of espresso beans, cream, dark roast and dark chocolate. Flavor is boldly dominated by coffee and espresso and it’s suave and fairly complex, with a nice base of malt. Nice finish and overall, quite tasty.

On tap at the PDX Green Dragon. Pours dark brown with a soft tan head. Strong fresh coffee flavor, astringent and bitter, big roasty burnt flavor. If you like coffee this will due, I’m not a big coffee drinker, but I think would make a good breakfast beer.
