on tap at Green Dragon. pours a rich black color with a big head. filled with lots of rich coffee aromas and hints of spice. flavor is a tad on the sweet side, with lots of coffee and chocolate notes. thought this was quite a good brew.

Uber fresh draft at Obriens. Dark brown with ruby highltights, minimal head with light lacing, good clarity. Nose is coffee grounds and espresso, Starbucks style. Flavor is pure coffee grounds with a hint if dark chocolate, moderate roast and bitterness, faint grassy hop flavors, finishes lightly sweet and roasty. Light-medium body, moderate carbonation, watery. Super fresh coffee stout reiminiscent of Founders, love the roast and bittering here!

~Strong coffee scent with chocolate malts.
~Pours black with ruby tones. Creamy brown head.
~Smooth coffee flavor with chocolate malts.
~Med full body, light CO2, bitter coffee finish.
~Good coffee brew! I like this a tad better than the Moonstone.

Had this on nitro at the pub. Aroma of a great cup of iced coffee. small tan head, but nice carbonation from the nitro. darkest brown & opaque. coffee flavor, mocha, just enoug hops to balance the sweet to a neural, but no hop flavor. maybe i enjoyed this more as I’m not a big porter fan, but I was impressed.

Pours dark brown with some ruby tinged edges when held up to the light. The aroma is really inviting with a heavy roasted coffee presence, some nuttiness. The flavor is dry and roasted with lots of coffee and nuts. The body is a bit thin, but very tasty.

Goddamn this ish was great! I love me a good coffee porter, and while this wasn’t totally blowing my mind away or anything, it sit pleasantly in that "we just made a really good beer that fits the style we went for" catagory. Roasty malts and burnt coffee on the nose. Nice black pour, tanned frothy head. Smooth flavor, but definitely hitting you with nice bitter coffee tannins, while mixing burnt chocolate hints in there as well. Mochay you could say. Pleasant lingering finish of all flavors combined. Yum!

Bottle shared by Marcus. Pours ruby brown with a transient light tan head. Strong, strong coffee aroma. There’s so much coffee in it that it suggests chewy bitter. Amps down a bit with time. Simple and tasty. Extreme beer.

At Hops in Humboldt Micro-Brew Festival in 4 oz glass. Looks like French Roast. For that matter smells like French Roast. Shucks, tastes like French Roast. If you like your Porter to take lile coffee this is the one. I like Porter as just that so I have to rate this as coffee royale. Good though.

Strong coffee roast aroma. Small beige head. Black smooth on the palate and a little bitter with a full coffee roast finish.

Sample at the brewpub. Clear dark brown with a thin beige head. Aroma of Kona coffee, chocolate and roast. Flavor is robust bitter coffee with a bit of chocolate. Not subtle and that’s just fine.
