3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 mikeschuld (51) - Bozeman, Montana, USA - MAY 21, 2010Another unimpressive porter from Six Rivers. This was the only beer that I gave a 5 for appearance though as I thought it looked exactly like it should in the glass. Good head and some lacing left on the glass.
Very watery palette and not a ton of the coffee or chocolate flavor I was waiting for.
3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 J_man (540) - Tustin, California, USA - MAY 9, 2013
Starts off with a promising dark chocolate, cherry and woody aroma coming off a relatively clear dark brown body with a quickly dissipating tan head. The first taste is more dark and bittersweet chocolate with some candied fruit sweetness. However, like a lot of coffee beers, a tongue pucking sourness that’s not particularly enjoyable shows up and starts to build with each sip. This eventually becomes the dominate component until it’s really more of a dark sour beer. Not bad, but not great.
2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 dwyerpg (4067) - Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - MAY 5, 2013
Smells of coffee and some butter. This looks good but that’s about it. The flavor is fairly strong of coffee but the sweetness and chewiness I just don’t like very much. The bomber is way too much for me.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20 5000 (4974) - Hardened Liver, Washington, USA - MAY 3, 2013
Bottle:   Black pour, large foamy beige head, fairly nice lacing.   Pale roasted nose, soft coffee grinds.   Pale roasted malts, more coffee grounds than the nose suggests.   Body is light, mouthfeel seems a bit
watery.   Has a unripened berry and bakers chocolate sort of finish, along with the pale roasted malts and coffee grounds.   Tiz okay, but could use more body.

Dark black with a tan head. Lightly sweet with minimal cocoa aromas. Medium bodied with a straight coffee flavor on the after taste.

I think Timfoolery gave me this bottle. Pours a brown color with a plethora of carbonation. Smells of coffee and tastes of coffee. What a surprise....A very average beer. The palate is just slightly off for me.

3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20 jgb9348 (3970) - Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA - DEC 13, 2012
Nice rich deep brown body with a thick, three centimetre tall light brown, slightly soapy head. Aroma of tons of complex notes - prunes, earth, dirt, grass, nuts, peat, roasted malt and of course - coffee. Medium-bodied; Assertive prune and pit fruit flavour at first with a good malt backbone behind and a nutty and slightly earthy finish. Aftertaste surprisingly thin with a bit of fruitiness noticeable, some lighter malt notes and a hint of grapes at the end. Overall, a good smelling and looking beer, but the flavour and especially the aftertaste simply disappoint. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from BevMo in San Bruno, California on 05-March-2012 for US$4.69 sampled a few days after returning from Hawaii, at home in Washington on 13-December-2012.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 spjensen (60) - Davis, California, USA - DEC 13, 2012
Has an interesting aroma and taste to it. It’s sweet, unlike other beers and this style. And has an almost sour, fruity aftertaste.
