Legendary, like the beast itself! Brewed wih all imported malts and Loaded with Pacific NW, Cascade and Columbus hops before being dry hopped with more Columbus hops to a whopping 99IBU. Six Rivers Brewery only uses whole hop cones, never pelletized!

Bottle. A reddish brown color with an off-white head. I was surprised by the double IPA designation as it seemed more like an American Strong Ale. The sweet malts came through equally with a hop profile in both the aroma and flavor. Chalk it up to being so well balanced.

Bottle@ trailer. Clear copper bronze color with lasting ivory head. Nice floral, tropical fruit, pale malt aromas. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Tropical fruit, pine, floral, herbal lightly sweet flavors with a big pale malt base brew----good.

"Big display at Total Wine...supposedly fresh - never seen this particular brew before. Couldn’t tell the style from the label, just that it was hoppy. Dark pour for any ipa, odd aroma and flavor. Bread. spice, peppery pine and spruce, hoppy and bitter, but malty sweet as well. Not a favorite in the IIPA style (or for the price) but not a bad beer either."

From a bottle into a snifter glass. The pour is a light brown with a white head. There’s a lot of carmel malt notes with grass and resin hop notes.Malty IPA

On draft at Tap 25. I’ve scrolled past this one many times due to the low style rating. I’m glad I finally tried it, because I was pleasantly surprised. Kind of. It pours a dark reddish orange color with an off white head. The aroma has malt and fruit with a little toffee and strong floral hops. The flavor has more thick fruity malts with big floral bitterness. From the looks of the color of this beer, I thought it was going to be a sweet crystal malt mess, but somehow they managed to get it finishing dry which was nice. It actually ironically reminds me a bit of Bigfoot without the caramel/toffee flavors. Unfortunately, neither the hop or malt character really excite me all that much. Better than expected.

Pours a cloudy amber with a nice head. Aroma is citrucy fruit apricots upfront dominate the aroma with some slight tangerines and or Orange notes. Taste follows the aroma. With as medium to heavy mouth feel. To be honest this beer Taste like carbonated apricot juice.

Piney and citrus aroma. Poured with a syrupy appearance and nice head from a bottle into a glass. It is a good DIPA. Not typical west coast hop-centric IPA. Nice balance.

Hazy deep amber beer, good pale cream coloured head. Palate is smooth and semi dry. Minerally crisp carbonation. Semi dry malt with toffee - caramel crystal malt sweetness. Hops are piney with a little orange and orange marmalade. Finishes with the malt turning creamy and the piney hops turning bitter. Not the most sophisticated of DIPAs but okay.

UPDATED: DEC 11, 2014 On tap for beer week. Aroma is malty. Distinctly English. Flavor is the same, the hops come through well but there is lots of caramel. Not very bitter. But not a bad beer either. Rerate from the bomber, aroma is bitter, nice head and lacing. Flavor is quiet bitter in a monstrous kind of way. Better than my previous rate!

Tap at the brewpub, fall 2013 - This brew has a fruity, caramel malt aroma and a copper color. The flavor is sweet up front, too much so as I found it to be syrupy and rather like cough medicine. It’s full bodied with a somewhat bitter finish and overall just a mess. Maybe this was a bad batch, but in my opinion it’s a botched attempt at an IIPA.

UPDATED: JAN 11, 2014 22 oz. bottle, pours a hazy dark amber orange with a medium beige head. Aroma brings out earthy notes, caramel, and vegetal notes - not too much in the way of hops. Flavour brings a lot of vegetal notes, light hops, and some bready notes. Way too vegetal - tons of off-notes here. Not very drinkable. Quite bad.
