Bottle. Pours a clear orange gold with a white head that dissipates slowly to the edges. Aroma has a combination grapefruit, light pine and slightly sweet citrus with a light grain backbone. Flavor starts with pineapple that transforms to light citrus with a light grain finish.

On tap at Six Row on Jan 11th. Pours a golden color with white head. Hoppy, grassy, citrus flavors. Doesn’t quite feel like a Double IPA.

22 oz bottle from a big discount liquor store. Pours a slightly haxy orange/amber with decent off-white head and good lacing. Aroma is much heavier on the caramel malts than on the hops, but some grapefruit, orange, and pine are present. Taste is sweet with only a slightly bitter finish. Definitely not a hop bomb and not very boozy. Body is medium with average carbonation for the style. Somewhat disappointing for a double IPA, but not expensive.

Bottle:   Big gusher once opened.   Pours amberish, on the orange side, faint haze, large frothy off-white head, little lacing.   Soft powdered candy like nose, a touch of citrus.   Seems as though it may be busted.   Somewhat of a candied citrus peel up front, powdery like pixie stix, with some pith like bitterness in the background.   Even picks up a touch of sourness on the backside.   Seems over the hill with its pixie stix like sweetness.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Finishes with a sour pith like flavor.   Given the pixie stix aroma/flavor, thinking this one is a bit over the hill.   Slight fruity sourness after the finish.   Hmmm....

This was a very nice Double IPA. I got plenty of citrus but did not get much pine. The appearance was cloudy (which is fine by me) with a nice, off-white head. I thought the finish was the best part of this beer, it had an extra burst of mild bitterness. I would buy and drink again.

22oz bottle from Binny’s Lincoln Park. Pours a clear, golden-orange colored body with a finger-width, creamy and frothy, off-white head that dissipates slowly and leaves a nice lacing. Aroma is orange pines and somewhat sweet caramels with a bit of a toasty biscuit, a few florals, and some resins. Flavor is somewhat thin feeling initially, but similar. Resiny pines with oranges and grapefruits, florals, sweeter caramels, and a bit of a toasty biscuit. Finishes clean and dry with a medium-high bitterness before leaving a lengthy aftertaste. Medium-thin body and a moderate carbonation. Overall, a very easy drinking DIPA. Somewhat simple, but well hopped and balanced with no cloying sweetness. Not bad at all.

Pours clear dark orange with little to no head. Nice citrus aroma with slight hops. Notes of lemon and grapefruit. As expected, very hoppy but pretty smooth caramel malt with a bitter finish. Not overly boozy.

22oz. bottle. Piney, citric hop aroma, some grapefruit, pineapple and lemon notes, with a very pale malty sweetness in the background. Hazy light-medium golden orange in color, with a lasting, fine, uneven head that also leaves plenty of lacing behind. Flavor profile is very predominantly hoppy, more citrus and tropical fruit aspects to be found here, along with some wood, pine and very light caramel malt touches showing through, before it finishes clean, hoppy and bitter. Plenty of effervescence on the palate, lending a lighter feel, body is medium. Alcohol presence is notably absent. Not bad, a fairly simple and basic rendering of a Double IPA. Drinkable.

22 oz. bottle, sent from tstockstrom (thanks Chuck), pours a hazy golden orange with a small white head. Aroma is pretty typical for a IIPA, with pine and citrus hops, a bit of floral, and a big caramel malt backbone. Flavour is very bitter, with shitloads of citrusy hops, a big floral quality too, and a sufficient malt backbone. Hugely dominated by the citrus. Semi-sweet without destroying the hoppiness. Solid IIPA, but short of anything overly stimulating.

Two finger head, creamy, mostly diminishing, great lacing, off white, cloudy golden brown, citrus floral aroma, nice bitter bite, medium body.
