Brewed with almost two (2) pounds of hops per barrel and left unfiltered, the Six Row Double IPA showcases the citrusy and piney characteristics of the Columbus, Centennial, and Chinook hops.

Tan to orange and hazy with decent head/lace. Smells very piney and hoppy, you can smell the oils big time. Taste is heavily hopped but still pretty smooth, with lots of pine and grapefruit. Bitterness is high and so is the drinkability. A very nice double.

22oz. Bottle: Got in trade from Phaleslu; THANKS Peter! Aroma of hops, citrus, caramel malt, and a hint of diacetyl. Poured amber in color wtih a small, off-white head that greatly diminished but lasted throughout as a film on top of the beer. Cloudy. Sparkling. Full of tiny particles throughout. Flavor is light to medium sweet and medium bitter. Tastes of hops, malt, diacetyl, citrus, and a hint of pine. Medium body. Oily, then dry texture. Average carbonation. Malt, hops, pine, diacetyl, slight resin, finish is dry. 8.4%ABV is completely hidden throughout. Too much diacetyl/butter.

On tap at brewpub. Pours a hazy amber with a minimal head that remains. Grapefruit and newly mown grass aroma. Taste is citrus, sweet toasted malt and caramel. Well balanced good brew. More like a mild barleywine in character, though.

On tap at Six Row brewpub. Lightly hazed amber with an off-white head and a moderate amount of lacing. Aroma of resinous west coast hops, pine, citrus and a nice caramel malt bill. Taste is dank and west coasty with resinous hops, pine needles, a hint of alcohol, caramel. Decent double IPA that I guzzled down as the Badgers knocked the Wildcats out of the NCAA tourney.

Pour is a clear orange with a very small white head. Aroma is an adequate amount of citrus hops. Flavor is again more citrus hops with lingering dry malty backbone. Not an overpowering hop to this but just almost the right amount for an IPA. Alcohol is at the low end for a IIPA which is nice and makes this a well made beer.

Sampler at the brewpub. Deep copper color with a thin white head. Aroma is a good hop. Flavor is also very good and light citrus hops on a caramel malt. Not a bad brew.

12 oz. tulip glass at Bigelo’s. Aroma was toasty malt and some kind of funk. Couldn’t place it, though. Flavor began with nice malt. Hops were secondary and offered floral and pine. Some very nice fruit ran throughout. It was a bit sour but that was not a detraction at all here. A very modest IIPA. Not "in your face" at all but well contained and controlled. Nicely done. I wouldn’t dare rate it anything other than a 3.7 and break the streak.
