COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Six Row’s Kolsch is a bright, light-bodied, moderately hopped golden ale/lager hybrid beer. We ferment and age it at lower temperatures than most of our ales to make it especially smooth, clean and refreshing. "Crisp" and "spritzy" are words that might come to mind when you try it.

UPDATED: APR 15, 2013 Tasted on tap into shaker. It poured a clear golden color with tall, creamy white head, excellent retention and lace. Mostly neutral and true-to-style: husky, crusty white bread, freshly cut grass, restrained flowery hops, faint peppery yeast phenols. No flaws. The palate was surprisingly complex: light body, strong carbonation, crisp, earthy, and grainy mouthfeel with a chalky mineral water feel (in a good way, and historically accurate), lingering aftertaste like pilsner but less dry, with very faint fruity ale esters. Unexpectedly delicious.

Draft served in a pint glass at the brewpub. Pours a clear gold color with plenty of visible carbonation and a finger-thick bubbly white head. Aroma of bready pale malts, straw, grains, and earth. Flavor of bready pale malts, straw, dough, corn flakes, grass, and earth. Light-bodied, with fairly high carbonation and a crisp, bready mouthfeel. Nice kolsch.

Stopped in on a late Friday afternoon. The Kolsch was clear with a small whitish head and light carbonation was seen. Aroma and flavor had light grain and some gentle hops. This beer was set apart by a very light black peppery spice that was noted as the beer warmed. This was a nice crisp starter beer and was well done.

Tasted 7/16/10. Sample #6 from the Brewpub. Filtered with a bright golden hue. White ring of head. Faint aromas. Light to medium bodied with a dry body. Grainy malts and trace hops. Nice bitterness, but not quite enough going on.

Very nice kolsch and the beer at the brewery I’d have the most often. Pours clear pale yellow with a white head. The aroma is a bit sweet with some fruiteness and a touch of spicy hops - very clean and nice. Very light crisp body with some sharp micro carbonation. The taste starts off grassy along with some sulfur, pale malt and spicy hops. Like many of the beers at the brewery there is a mineral presence on the finish. Good beer.

tap at brewpub-straw yellow hue with a small foamy white head. spicy, grassy nose with a touch of hops-clean and pleasant. clean flavors of grains, grass, german yeast, and lite spicy hops. short finish of grains and fresh cut grass. really clean and crisp which would make this a great beer on a hot STL day. a great example of the style and their best beer.

Sample at the brewpub. Pours a clear yellow color with a medium thin and fizzy white head that diminishes steadily. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of mildly spiced hops, fruit and malt. Light, crisp body with flavors of grassy hops, spice, fruit and doughy malt. The finish is lemony with a grassy hops aftertaste. Above average all around.
