Dark, malty, chocolaty, great hop aroma; all can be said of Six Row’s Strong Porter. Strong because of the increased alcohol content, hop bitterness and aroma. The Strong Porter was brewed with authentic English malt along side Black and Chocolate malt to add complexity. The deepness of the malt is complimented by East Kent Goldings and Fuggle hops to balance the slight sweetness typical of traditional English Porters.

Bottle received in trade from gregwilsonstl, thanks for the opportunity! Huge pop when the cap came off and massive tan bubbles fill up the glass as I pour. Roasty light cocoa on the nose when the bubbles finally subside. Hints of tart cherry and ash add to the flavor. some infection starting here, not horrible yet, but it will be.

Bomber brought to our tasting session by a reputable source, and poured to snifters, showing a black/brown hue, with good persistence to the frothy, brownish tan head foam, and ribbons & spots of lacing. The nose was some roasted malt, cocoa, and a hint of cherry, but more noticeable and disconcerting was the freezer burn scent, and cardboard. Medium bodied, with low carbonation, the taste went even further south, and was basically sour. Bummed.

Draft. Nose is chocolate with a cakey character to it. Pour is dark brown to black with a large light brown head. Taste is a mix if cocoa and chocolate with just a touch of coffee. Medium mouthfeel with a moderate carbonation. As it warns it reveals some grassy hoppy character. Pretty good.

22oz bottle in a tulip. Pours dark brown with a lacy, beige head. Aroma of light roasted malts, metallic notes, some chocolate, light dough, and bitterness. Flavor the same. Average texture. Too much metal in this porter.

Sweet without much body. Quite burnt, but nut in a good way. Pretty boring. Feels empty.

Big bottle to a taster, at DLD 2013. Dark brown color. Good thin khaki head. Bits of lace. Toasty malty spicy hop. Light dark fruit. Light herbal hop. Medium body, but a bit on the bigger side... tastes a bit bigger than 5%. Lighter smooth carbonation. Lightly tart, lightly acidic, but not in a way that ruins it. Solid.
