Take thou also unto thee wheat, and barley, and beans... and put them in one vessel. The beans of bygone brewers, united with cacao and coffee, to create a trinity of roasted, rich, and savory flavors.

This is a powerful beer. I’m glad it came in as small a can as it did as I don’t think I needed anymore. Very alcoholic and the coffee and chocolate come across very strongly as well. The bitter aftertaste is a surprise. Tried in NYC in 2013.

Can. [thanks beerandblues]
Pours almost all black with a large, creamy, beige head. Aroma has cocoa, mild caramel, mild coffee, light milky. Medium carbonation, fat and creamy mouthfeel. Flavour is mildly sweet, clear wheat, heavy roasted coffee and cocoa, darkish chocolate. Mildly vinious in the finish. Nice.

Pours a dark mahogany black color with a beautiful head. Nose is full of malt and deep espresso with some burnt chocolate. Taste is dark chocolate roasted coffee, with the alcohol extremely well hidden. Finish is short without any true lingering. Maybe tomorrow morning with my everything bagel. Quaff Score 8 / 10

Pours black with a brown head and aroma of roasted malt and coffee. Taste is sweet and smooth, of roasted malt, chocolate, and coffee with a roasty finish. Nice porter

Pours deep brown into a snifter. Mocha head recedes leaving no lacing to hug rim. Nasty sour, stale coffee aromas. Medium bodied with chocolate and espresso front to back. The taste is really so much better than the aroma it’s striking.

From can to tulip. Pours dark opaque brown with a creamy looking one finger khaki head. Aroma of nutty coffee, roasted malt, and ashiness. Nose is a little thin. Flavor is roasted makes and a hint of earthy coffee. Really this falls a little flat for me at first and was very thin for an imperial porter. Seems to pick up as I sip through and might be better on the warmer side. Medium carbonation and medium mouthfeel. Meh, not bad but won’t return to this one.

Aroma is dark malts, toffee/caramel, mild/medium nuttiness and chocolate. The flavor is toffee, nutty malts, caramel, butterscotch notes and a mix of tart and sour in the finish.
