3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Aroma is fairly subtle with chocolate and coffee dominating. There is also some nutty malt notes and a light fruit ester. Low roasted malt aroma present as well. No hop aroma.
Pours a dark brown with lighter brown highlights on the edges. Good thick tan head that shows nice retention.
Flavor is good, but surprisingly boring. Light coffee and chocolate notes with coffee becoming more apparent late in the palate. As it warms the coffee gets more noticeable as does some alcohol spice. No hop flavor and low bitterness. Not a whole lot of roast malt flavor.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Medium low astringency and medium low alcohol warmth.
Overall an alright beer but the alcohol as it warms isn't great. Also the malt character isn't as bright as I would hope or expect. I don't get much chocolate either.

Can. Deep garnet-brown body, thin tan head. Bitter, ashy, roasted coffee bean nose; otherwise dry. Coffee bean dominates the thin, relatively simplistic body. Bitter. OK.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Deeeeep amber, thin toffee head. Coco & coffee in the nose. Balanced and bittersweet. Through the middle an espresso, dark chocolate liqueur. Alcohol bitterness, assisted by coffee, closes the door. A powerful beer.

Can thanks to khoffman43! Rich dark black pour, slowly dissipating carbonation and an aroma of dark chocolate and fresh dark roast starbucks coffee. Flavor is nice rich roasted dark malt base, peat & more coffee and slightly sweet on the finish. As far as coffee beers go, pretty damn solid.

Can pour black with ruby tints. Nose of coffee, raost, chocolate, and hint of dark fruit. Taste of the same, with a hint more dark chocolate. Creamy mouthfeel. Long bitter finish.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Neat little can. Aroma of malt and coffee, with a couple of off notes. The flavor is powerful, leaning a little too far toward bitterness. Lots of dark coffee, drying hops, cigar tobacco, and a touch of molasses. It is not an immediate favorite, but a good brew. Made with coffee, cocoa, and an unidentified bean of "bygone brewers."

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours dark brown and from a vigorous pour I got a tall ample head of mocha colored foam that fell to some sticky lace. Just a little light around the edges makes it look like cola. Nose is delicious. Coffee, chocolate and dark caramel malt. Smells roasty and cold. Malt is prominent and sweet in the nose but hides a bit of bread. I can’t wait to taste it. Oh delight! Coffee, smooth chocolate some warming alcohol and little toast. Mouthfeel is thin and creamy. There is good earth and a little bitter from the hops and a touch of dark fruit on the back palate that makes this seem very decadent. The coffee is extremely well done and not the slightest bit burnt. The cocoa is like silk up next to it. The alcohol is a little too prominent to call it smooth but it rounds out with hints of vanilla as it warms. The bread in this is mild and really well done. Truly great.

Can. Clear dark brown (almost black) liquid with small to medium light tan head. Aroma of coffee, bitter chocolate, biscuit, light ash, light booze and some fruity yeast esters. Taste is light sweet and light to medium bitter with notes of coffee, bitter chocolate and light booze. Medium bodied with medium carbonation. Nice, bit boozy though.
