4.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
This is one of the best stout beers I've ever had. It is packed with flavor and hits on all cylinders. I was a big skeptic of the can, but this one is done right. It's by far one of my favorites to recommend.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
a nice skinny can bought as a single. Really a nice mocha beer with medium body and easy sweet drinkability for 10% abv beer. Chococlate was there but creamy coffe dominated profile. Was a bit knocked for a loop after drinking this, sneesk up on you. Good but not above other chocolate/coffee beers out there.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Rated 3/28/13. Thanks to Momar42 for the 12 oz can! Poured into a Duvel tulip.
A: Pours a very dark brown color. The head is a two finger mocha shade. I’m fairly impressed with the retention given the gravity, and the lacing left down the glass is beautiful and consistent.
S: There’s a good amount of chocolate and coffee on the nose. The coffee seems to take on a hazelnut quality to it; always a good thing here. A bit of booze come through to the nose, as well.
T: Alcohol is far more prevalent on the flavor profile, unfortunately. Most of the booziness is concentrated on the opening flavors. The finish, however, sees a surge of lightly roasted nuttiness that I enjoy somewhat, along with some more heavily roasted coffee. Some umami notes tie this together - actually, a lot of umami notes tie this together. Other notes of hazelnut and toasted oak appear, giving it some good complexity. Ultimately, I think the savory qualities are a bit too strong for their own good.
M: There’s good creaminess within the texture, but it’s a bit more carbonated than I like from such a creamy feel. More damning is the fact that it doesn’t go down particularly easily, likely from the prevalent alcohol.
O: I think this could have kicked ass if it were, say, 8% and just a touch sweeter (not cloying, though). As it stands, it feels too much like hard work drinking it. Not bad at all, though - certainly a unique take on a ’coffee and chocolate’ brew.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: JUN 30, 2013 12-oz. can. Strong coffee aroma with cinnamon. A medium brown color with no head. Solid coffee taste with pronounced hop bitterness and some cocoa on the back end. Fairly light body with a moderately bitter finish. This one was so much better than the previous can I had. Another solid Sixpoint offering.

This is a nice beer. I dont get any barrel character as it says its barrel aged but I do get plenty of coffee and cocoa with a nice brown ale/porter backbone that isnt really roasty but more sweet malty.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
This is a robust porter crossing the line with an american stout, but double (Imperial) at 10% Alcohol, which you will notice on the taste as a warming alcohol.
Let this treat warm up to about 50-55F and the complex malt (roast, chocolate, toast) will come forward really nice.
The aftertaste is a bit astringent from the alcohol, not just the dark malts. But that subsides as it warms up as well.

12oz can brought back by a friend from CBC 2013----> NB globe. Pours a dark brown with a nice khaki head and a weird dotted lace. Smells of heavy quality coffee and light roast. Taste is good bitter coffee and a bit of milk chocolate. Fairly light on the tongue with surprisingly high carbonation. This is a dangerously drinkable 10% beer.

Can. Pours black with tan head. Aroma is alcohol, coffee, and sweet. Taste hides the alcohol surprisingly well. A good amount of coffee and some sweetness in there too. This is very good.

12 oz. can. Pours a clear dark brown that allows light to pass along the edges and a trace of light to pass through the body. There is a moderate-large brown head that lasts through the first quarter of the glass and leaves partial lace. Pleasant aroma of coffee with notes of cocoa. The flavor is coffee along some lightly roasted malt and some cocoa. Some mild coffee/roast bitterness at the back of the throat after the swallow. Medium bodied. Enjoyable.
