Take thou also unto thee wheat, and barley, and beans... and put them in one vessel. The beans of bygone brewers, united with cacao and coffee, to create a trinity of roasted, rich, and savory flavors.

This tastes a lot like Breakfast Stout(that's a good thing). This has a little less depth/flavor; plus it's about $3 more per 4 than the Founders. Really impressed though. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12 oz can pours a dark brown color with a nice off white head. Aromas of coffee, chocolate, dark malt. Coffee dominates the flavor, but nicely balance, very good.

The appearance is dark, dark brown with light brown head that leaves thick sheets of lace that look like icing. The smell is like smelling a Russell Stover sampler box. That big rush of chocolate and other sweet flavors you get when you take the lid off of one of those boxes? Thatís this. The flavor is just outstanding. Coffee and chocolate and root beer and a big malt, plus hops and some heat from the 10% ABV. This is probably going to become my favorite porter. Iíll buy the hell out of this whenever I can find it.

can, from Van Loans, Kingston NY. Good aroma, sweet, roasty. Coffee, chocolate. Dark brown color, good initial head, faded kind of quick, spotty lace. sweet flavor. full body, oily creamy mouthfeel, bitter sweet finish, Pretty good, aroma got better as it warmed, good flavor, but I think the 10% shows itself, itís hot. still darn tasty in the scheme of things. good pick up by my wife.

Can thanks to Dmac. Pours an attractive dark brown color with a 2-finger off white head. Aroma is of light cocoa powder, some mild-,medium roast coffee. Taste is chocolate, light coffee, roasty malts, a little punch of hop bitterness with a slight tell to the otherwise rather well hidden 10% abv.

Poured from a 12 ounce skinny can. Pours a translucent brown with a thin, greyish head. Aroma is sweet and creamy chocolate and coffee. Taste is a roasty bitter coffee with a surprising wheaty breadiness going on in anthem finish. Pretty nice beer all around.

Can. Nose of straight coffee with some roast and sweetness. Pours deep dark brown with a touch of red around the edges and a creamy, full rocky tan head. A little lace, legs. Taste is sweet as if artificially intensified, roasty with light bitterness and refined and gentle warming booze spreading outward from the finish into the aftertaste. Coffee is still an accurate descriptor, but more like coffee with a good deal of creamer added. Fullish body, smooth with a gentle undertow. Chocolate is a little thin but itís there and has a mild plummy aspect (the overall beer wouldnít be described as fruity). Have read elsewhere about the Romano beans, but I canít taste them here. A good beer unworthy of reduction to "experiment", but really just an avg-above avg coffee stout.
