Can [12oz]. Pours a very dark amber-brown with a huge cascading, lasting frothy beige head. Good amount of lacing. Aroma of roasted malt, caramel, chocolate, alcohol, a bit of sugar and some coffee of course. Flavour of coffee first followed by some hops, alcohol, lactic notes, pepper and chocolate. Average coffee bitter finish. Average bodied. Ya gotta like coffee, and I do, so it’s pretty good. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12oz slim can. Rating #255. Very dark brown pour with a tan head. Nice sweet roasty aroma, chocolate and rich malt. Nice bitter bite with a little alcohol kick as well, mild dark chocolate roast and just pretty darn tasty all together. (2846)

Can. Pours clear deep reddish hazel with a medium tan creamy head that dissipates with nice lacing. Aroma is really all about the coffee, with perhaps some molasses and chocolate thrown in. Flavor is much the same, coffee forward and not a whole lot else. Light sweet, light bitter growing to medium on the finish. Some acidity. Medium plus body, high carbonation, creamy. ABV very well masked. A nice beer, but a bit one dimensional.

Black Country Beano. Outbound train tasting! Thanks to Ian. Opaque dark brown beer, good pale tan head. Palate is smooth and slightly soft. Fine carbonation. Nice dark chocolate malt. Little mellow coffee. Light lactose. Touch of dark fruits. Finishes smooth with a mildly bitter coffee aftertaste. Drinks well below it’s abv. Nice beer!

Can on the Black Country Train Tasting Part I. The pour’s deep brown with a small head. The nose is quite sweet. Loads of roasted coffee and sweet chocolate. Hazelnut spread. Caramel. The taste is bear claw donut. More toffee and caramel. Roasted coffee beans. Full body, rich. Overall, decent.

Can. Dark brown, medium large tan head. Aroma coffee, vanilla. Medium body. Some alcohol. Flavor is pretty sweet but acceptably so. As you would expect it’s predominantly coffee and chocolate, with some roasted malts and caramel. Interesting and good.

Medium bodied with bite, fine carbonation , dry roasty finish. Decent.

Can. Moderate to heavy toasted dark bread and mild coffee for the malt, light to moderate resin and earth for the hops and yeast, with notes of vanilla, charcoal and alcohol giving it an overall scotch aroma. Head is small, frothy/creamy, light beige, with fair lacing and is mostly diminishing. Color is dark brown. Flavor starts lightly to moderately acidic, then finishes lightly acidic and moderately bitter. Palate is medium to full, watery with a lively carbonation, a moderately alcoholic and lightly dry finish. A pretty good beer, but as a Strong Porter it seemed a little bland to me.
