MaliMisho (208), East Meadow, New York, USA Apr 22, 2008 It had a cloudy yellow body, with an orangey flavor that had a nice amount of hops. Chapel (285), Levittown, New York, USA Mar 25, 2008 Growler from the Beer Room at Bowery Whole Foods. Pours a cloudy orange with very little head. The yeast is very visible as a slightly thicker cloudiness in the center of the glass. Aroma is highly citrus, mostly orange but some lemon as well. Additionally there was a lingering aroma of yeast. The flavor, surprisingly was muted. Fruity citrus was still present but not to strength I would have expected from the aroma. There are also some notes of a few spices. Nutmeg maybe? This mild citrus flavor eventually faded to a mildly bitter dry finish. beastiefan2k (990), Hicksville, New York, USA Feb 2, 2008 Super hoppy in your mouth. If you like it thats what this beer got. Super hoppy on the nose, if thats what you want this beer will clear you sinuses. Color is orange and clear, strong small head. I would have no idea this is a "wheat" beer. All fruity, lightly resin-y but easy drinking hops with low bitterness. Taste lacks even a bit more substance than the aroma. As I keep drinking this it gets very tiring and uninteresting. Growler from Whole Foods, Kasteel long stemmed lightly curved goblet glass. bonbright7 (144), Huntington, New York, USA Jan 18, 2008 I picked up a growler of this from Whole Foods on East Houston today and it had a very foamy crisis in the store as they dispensed it into the container, which the clerk wrapped in a cold bag for me. When I was able to pour the dark gold ale into the right glass, it reminded me of the Apollo Wheat with a cream scent compounded with hops. The strong wheat taste disappeared after a moment as the light malts were chased away by dry bitterness. I liked how the taste evolved as the ale sat for a few moments. It also displayed the millions of little bubbles from the bottom of the glass, which was something I normally associated with champagne. JoeMcPhee (3466), Jackson Heights, New York, USA Jan 5, 2008 Growler from Bowery Whole Foods. Cloudy orange-golden beer with a thick sticky white head. Aroma is very wheaty and spicy with a hint of yeasty spiciness as well. Lightly dusty. Fairly prominently hopped (it’s Sixpoint after all). A touch of honey and light crystal malt in the nose as well. Flavour is well-balanced, spicy wheat and a fresh spicy hoppiness. A touch of bubble gum and a lingering flinty bitterness. Soft lemony citrus flavour as well. Very nice, easy-drinking beer... this growler won’t last long.
