3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 PotjeBier (957) - Amsterdam, NETHERLANDS - MAR 24, 2012
On tap @ Beer Temple. Dark red-brown color. Head is off-white to beige, steady, good lace. Aroma’s of dark & red fruit, somewhat roasted, a little funky. Flavor is medium bitter & roasted. Medium body. Finishes bitter and ashy. Hardly a porter, but nice anyway.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 Capa (1905) - Manama, BAHRAIN - MAR 12, 2012
Dark with a beige head. Dark roasted malts, smooth cocoa, a touch of spice, and a bit of light citrus fruits. More roasted malt that I like in a porter, which makes me think this is closer to a stout, but either way it is a tasty beer.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Goodgrief (1720) - Middletown, Delaware, USA - FEB 4, 2012
On tap at Pinocchio’s. Dark pour, frothy head with a little lacing. Citrus hops are really evident in this one, on top of a smooth, roasty porter. I liked this one. It worked.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Rune (6120) - Tromsø, NORWAY - JAN 27, 2012
200ml as Sixpoint Porter 5.9% abv., served rather chilled from tap at Schouskjelleren. Transparent dark-brown body, filmy tan-coloured head blanketing the glass. Smell of roasted dark malts, mid-sweet. Dark malts in flavour on a roasty backbone, hints of coffee. Ashy dry palate. Nice dark bitter ending. Partly creamy in the mouth. Nice (Oslo, 23.01.2012).
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 JoeMcPhee (7620) - Toronto, ON, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 14, 2011
Deep black pour with a creamy white head and a nice chewy malt base. Rich cocoa and a nice chewy roastiness. Fairly complex through the middle with lots of toasted malt. Assertive spicy/citrusy hopping as well. There is a nice dark maltiness to the beer and a great mix of chewy hops and chocolatey malt. A damn fine porter (although it’s really a stout)
