COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our first-ever seasonal can release arrives today, and it is brewed as a true celebration of this special moment in time. We made a trip out to Yakima Valley to the oldest continually operating hop farms in the country, and met with Patrick Smith, a 3rd generation hop grower. We selected and harvested 800 pounds of fresh “wet hops”

2012-16oz Can. Pours amazing light bronze color with a citrus nose yet a hint of pumpkin/spice. Lighter mouthfeel than expected with great balance. Alcohol is not prominent and very easy drinking. Hop finish similar to a EBC in my opinion. Liked the 2011 version better but Citra hops are great too. A online poll helped decide the dominant hop. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft to taster. Looks solid; a transparent orange with off-white lacing. Smells malty and spicy. Tastes the same, but not as good. Average (at best) on the palate. Meh.

2012 16oz can, poured into a tulip, best by 12/30/12. Wet hop ale with pumpkin sounds really interesting... And this has got to be much improved from last years version. I think this is really good! Smooth lighter carbonation, medium body. Dry texture. Clear orange color. Thicker khaki head, leaving great lace. Good aggressive hoppy aroma; orange, pine, resin, lemongrass. Only a bit of pumpkin. Seems to be much more IPA than pumpkin ale, but it?s definitely a cool mix. Good bitter and spice taste; zest. Hint of cinnamon, nutmeg. Really good, definitely fascinating. Totally new hybrid for me, and I think it?s a winner. This is the kind of creative stuff I like to see. I plan to pick up at least a couple more of these for non-critical enjoyment before the end of the season

On tap at CBF. Poured an amber-orange color with a small white head. Aroma was citrus notes, earthy hops as well. Flavor was hops, citrus, overall earthy. Pumpkin not there, but I’m glad I’m not the only one that was confused by this.

Bottle @ home, courtesy of some generous trader. Another unfortunate brew that got lost in the back of my parent’s refrigerator. Oh yeah, here goes. Cloudy, reddish orange appearance with a big, bubbly, tan head. Quite spicy, ginger, somewhat piney, toasty malty aroma. Caramel, pumpkin, ginger, richly piney hoppy, toasty malty flavor. Not bad.

Canned at Oliver Twist, Stockholm. Hazy pale amber, mid sized head. Aroma of tangerine and gooseberry. Medium bodied with clean, rounded mouthfeel. Perfumy and mid sweet with minty tangerine hops and the slightest touch of ginger. Mid bitter finish.

deep honey color with a nice head. plenty of malts, not much for hops, a medicinal note that runs through all their beers. .

A cloudy light orange brew. Big carbonation. Lots of fine cloudy sediment swirling around. Light sweet herbal aromas. Flavor is hoppy with an herbal backbone. Very faint pumpkin flavor. Faint spices. Medium body. Grassy hop finish. Interesting, but not superior.

Can from Rick’s in Alexandria. Served in a nonic pint. Reviewed from notes. Pours a somewhat-hazy orange-copper color with a good off-white head and nice retention with a bit of lacing. The nose brings forward plenty of different characteristics, with some ginger and spice plus faint herbal notes. Some hops float through as well. The flavor brings some ginger and pumpkin spice plus hops. A bit of bready malt. Medium body with a faintly-spicy finish with a light dryness. Pretty good. Interesting, that’s for sure.
