2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Darwenus (384) - Virginia, USA - APR 18, 2013
Cloudy orange with a fairly creamy, head. Fair amount of lace. The aroma isn’t assertive, but you can pick up on the malt. The smell is not all hops without a foundation, there’s a rich malt in the there, even if it isn’t assertive. The flavor is very balanced. Smooth, bready malt with a citrus hop that dominates the finish. It’s pretty good, but only pretty good, and there are quite a few very good IPAs out there these days.

Sixpoint Bengali Tiger IPA is a top-notch IPA. Nice amber pour with a decent head. Real nice floral nose although not complex. Hop character lingers on the palate after the swallow. Bitter bite doesn’t last long. Bengali Tiger is an IPA worthy enough to put on your regular rotation.

Pours a nice amber with thick eggshell head. Citrus, pine, and a hint of floral in the aroma. A little thin in the mouthfeel. Nice malty backbone. Finishes dry. Very refreshing.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 mathieuc (275) - Québec, Quebec, CANADA - APR 8, 2013
Pours golden with a thin egg shell head that leaves INTENSE lacing, really good looking. Aroma is loaded with green and resiny hops, piney but not over the top with a little citrus. Taste is medium bitterness backed by a robust malt backbone. It is never cloying, though. Flavors could be a little more refined, but it is never quite harsh. Overall a good one from Sixpoints, I’d pick that one up if it was more readily available and if they would stick to brewing instead of doing some legal assaults.

can. clear orange with a large, can poured, foamy white head. candy-like sweet, fruity, hop nose. flavor is well balance with fruity and floral hop notes. a large amount of low alpha hops. medium bodied with plenty of malt sweetness and light toasted bread. a low-ish amount of carbonation adds to the drinkability.

Can. Pours very lightly hazy copper with a large, foamy and frothy off-white eggshell head, long retention with good lacing. Aroma is earthy and spicy rye malt, herbal and spicy hops with citrus notes, and light peach and apricot fruity esters. Flavor is heavy hops and moderate bitterness, dry supporting rye and cracker malt with light fermentation fruity esters, balanced toward hops, and a dry finish with a lightly spicy and citrus pith aftertaste. Medium body and carbonation, light alcohol warmth, no creaminess or astringency.

Had this out of the tall boy can. I was surprised by the malty flavor based on a citrus like aroma. Pours with a decent head from a can. I love citrus ipas...I was intrigued by this beer’s overall balanced flavor and clean, crisp finish.

I tasted this beer last summer at Kennebunkport and it has a strong hoppy taste in the best IPA tradition with good lasting finish. A good session ale. Can I buy it in the UK?

I’ve never consumed perfume before but I would imagine it to taste like this beer, which is way over the top too sweet.
