COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Sixpoint Bengali Tiger is reminiscent of the century-old English IPA. In my perspective, many current IPAs suffer from lacking substance; unbalanced by a hoppy assertiveness that is not substantiated by a strong foundation of rich malt flavors. Our interpretation uses the highest-quality, floor-malted base malt, which lends a full-bodied and rich caramel flavor. We mash at high temperatures and add generous amounts of specialty malts to further emphasize a strong foundation of malt as leverage for our generous additions of hops… Which are indeed generous. We use a total of three different hop strains, and add a total of six different additions throughout the process. The Bengali Tiger has a hoppy snap upfront, but strides at a steady pace, and finishes balanced. The signature characteristic of the Tiger is the aroma… we use massive quantities of whole East Kent Goldings hops to dry hop in our conditioning tanks. The result? The essential oils from the hops are an enticing treat before every sip. Notice the lacing of stripes around the pint glass as you finish your glass; it’s the mark of the Tiger.

Nice big creamy fluffy head. Cloudy amber golden colour. Some Spiky fern happiness on the nose. Linear, clean and somewhat hoppy & nicely bitter in the middle and end.

Pours hazy reddy-orange colour with a thick off-white head. Good lacing and head remains throughout even though I drank it over the course of about an hour. Aroma is lots of hops, citrus and pine. Taste is citrussy, bitter and hoppy, followed by sweetness and strawberry and then a really bitter finish. Super.

Can from Wetherspunks. Orangey and piney. Lots of sweet malt biscuit. Some granary breadiness. Taste is grassy and piney. Brown sugar chewiness in the palate. Bitter, light mineral finish.

RB rating #1111. Cold can in JDW Hammersmith. Poured a bit out - hazy orange, foamy white head. Drank most from can. Aroma - mild pineapple hoppiness. Body is medium, quite foamy, medium carbonation. Taste - quite bitter grapefruit. Fairly one dimensional American IPA. Nice.

Can at Spoons, 21st March 14. Liked this one, good balanced IPA, would have this again as default on a Wetherspoons

Fr0m the can this p0ured an amber/0range b0dy, filled with bubbles and beading, but t0pped by a m0dest head. The n0se was very citrusy - tangerine, 0range, zest, and rind. The flav0r was primarily ab0ut the h0ps already menti0ned, and had just en0ugh malty sweetness t0 balance it 0ut. There was a s0lid, yet n0t 0verwhelming bitterness t0 it. It finished fairly dry, just m0derately bitter. Really, n0t a bad drink at all.

Look, this is delicious and you can get it in Spoons for Ł2.55. In a goblet! I never thought I would see this day.

Can from JDW Liverpool Street Station. As one of the much hyped "craft beer" additions to Wetherspoons I was expecting a bit more than this, especially from a US brewer. Not as prickly & hoppy as I was expecting, its nice enough, moderately fresh and probably very sessionable but nothing really jumps out at me from this.

Good IPA. Good looking copper color with nice head and lacing. Good tasting and good hoppy IPA.

355ml can from Jd Wetherspoons. Pours hazy orange amber, big, lasting head. Weak pine aroma. Good malty base balanced with big citrus hop. Quite thick mouth feel, but hides alcohol well. Very drinkable.
