COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Sixpoint Bengali Tiger is reminiscent of the century-old English IPA. In my perspective, many current IPAs suffer from lacking substance; unbalanced by a hoppy assertiveness that is not substantiated by a strong foundation of rich malt flavors. Our interpretation uses the highest-quality, floor-malted base malt, which lends a full-bodied and rich caramel flavor. We mash at high temperatures and add generous amounts of specialty malts to further emphasize a strong foundation of malt as leverage for our generous additions of hops… Which are indeed generous. We use a total of three different hop strains, and add a total of six different additions throughout the process. The Bengali Tiger has a hoppy snap upfront, but strides at a steady pace, and finishes balanced. The signature characteristic of the Tiger is the aroma… we use massive quantities of whole East Kent Goldings hops to dry hop in our conditioning tanks. The result? The essential oils from the hops are an enticing treat before every sip. Notice the lacing of stripes around the pint glass as you finish your glass; it’s the mark of the Tiger.

Solid, solid IPA. I had Resin before this one so I had to try this. Got my hand on a can at a restaurant and loved it from the pour. Lots of soft tropical fruits. Mango, papaya. Some banana. Lots of pine. Taste is unreal. Tons of resinous hop madness, tropical fruit, banana, just an epic beer. So fresh and delicious I could drink this until I couldn’t stand anymore.

Can at The Granite City (JDW), Aberdeen. Pours cloudy golden with a small creamy off-white head. Aroma of fruity hops, orange and citrus.Taste is moderate bitter, with some residual sugars and caramel, crisp and nice IPA, but a tad on the sweet side. Creamy mouthfeel, high carbonated.

16oz can poured into a shaker. Pours a cloudy dark orange with a half finger of white head. Aroma of citrus and pine resin. Taste is light bitter, follows aroma. Light bodied with a thin texture, lively carbonation and a long, lasting finish. Pretty good.

Canned Saracens Head Daventry 26/06/14. A hazy ginger coloured beer with a white head. Good citrussy hops but there’s a definite crystal malt sweentness which for me spoils. Flavoursome and drinkable but I’d prefer pale malts which wouldn’t detract from the hops.

A hazy amber nectar with a decent head. An intensely hoppy beer with a heavy maltiness too. Not as refreshing as some lightet IPAs but damn its good. Without a doubt the best beer in Wetherspoons line up. You wont regret it (until the morning!)

Can. Bought from JD Wetherspoons at Merry Hill. Slightly cloudy orange appearance with a medium head. Citrus and hops blend together to produce a powerful beer. Sweet but not overpowering with quite a full body. Powerful but easy to drink.
