COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Sixpoint Bengali Tiger is reminiscent of the century-old English IPA. In my perspective, many current IPAs suffer from lacking substance; unbalanced by a hoppy assertiveness that is not substantiated by a strong foundation of rich malt flavors. Our interpretation uses the highest-quality, floor-malted base malt, which lends a full-bodied and rich caramel flavor. We mash at high temperatures and add generous amounts of specialty malts to further emphasize a strong foundation of malt as leverage for our generous additions of hops… Which are indeed generous. We use a total of three different hop strains, and add a total of six different additions throughout the process. The Bengali Tiger has a hoppy snap upfront, but strides at a steady pace, and finishes balanced. The signature characteristic of the Tiger is the aroma… we use massive quantities of whole East Kent Goldings hops to dry hop in our conditioning tanks. The result? The essential oils from the hops are an enticing treat before every sip. Notice the lacing of stripes around the pint glass as you finish your glass; it’s the mark of the Tiger.

Excellent lite ipa, great into, reminds me of the oskar blues Pinner. Would buy a six pack I’d this well balanced, hoppy, fruity, and touch of floral

BBD 7/23/16. Pours a clear medium amber. World class head volume, lacing and retention. Outstanding rich nose of citrus and tropical hops (grapefruit, tangerine, orange) coupled with pine and a touch of spicy spruce. A solid biscuit and caramel base lies underneath. Heavy light body with a smooth texture. Perfect carbonation with a nice effervescent burst in the middle and a strong finely bubbled prickly finish. The outstanding flavor profile is reasonably intense, fairly complex and excellently balanced. It begins with the blended hop flavors of the nose that slowly separate - pine flowing to fruit. The middle is moderately bitter (rind and pine) and where biscuit and caramel arrive to balance. As the finish approaches, orange and tangerine sweetness are in the forefront. The finish is fairly crisp and dry. A fading bitterness lingers.

Can. Copper-amber pour, decent head retention. Nose of pine and light citrus rind. Taste of apricot, tame bitterness, easy and bright finish. Very solid IPA. Loving the English hops on this one.

This would be my second Sixpoint of the evening. I am expecting something terribly different after the last beer I had, so when I break open the top to this one, I have my nose to the open tab immediately. Wow! Very traditional and VERY hop-forward, the aroma is a monster; apricot-infused pine and it even smells sticky. The scent is enticing, and I am really having a hard time not tasting right away, but I’m glad I don’t break down and sneak a sip. This is a bittersweet aroma, heady and thick; the experience is equal parts explosive pine resin, sticky fruits, and sweet caramel. -- Not a quick drinker, the premiere quaff on this brew is a sticky, sweet mess in my mouth right up until I swallow; then comes the dry, the biting on the inside of my lips, and the sting to the soft underside of my tongue. It’s perfectly carbed and the slightly abusive taste is evenly diffused through the orange-auburn liquid. The aroma is unaffected by the small, off-white foam riding listlessly above the brew. -- The finish is wonderful; lengthy and bitter, full of flavor and character, and not flat like so many really bitter brews can be. I’m excited to have gotten to try it, and hope to have another experience with Sixpoint again, very soon.
