COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Sixpoint Bengali Tiger is reminiscent of the century-old English IPA. In my perspective, many current IPAs suffer from lacking substance; unbalanced by a hoppy assertiveness that is not substantiated by a strong foundation of rich malt flavors. Our interpretation uses the highest-quality, floor-malted base malt, which lends a full-bodied and rich caramel flavor. We mash at high temperatures and add generous amounts of specialty malts to further emphasize a strong foundation of malt as leverage for our generous additions of hops… Which are indeed generous. We use a total of three different hop strains, and add a total of six different additions throughout the process. The Bengali Tiger has a hoppy snap upfront, but strides at a steady pace, and finishes balanced. The signature characteristic of the Tiger is the aroma… we use massive quantities of whole East Kent Goldings hops to dry hop in our conditioning tanks. The result? The essential oils from the hops are an enticing treat before every sip. Notice the lacing of stripes around the pint glass as you finish your glass; it’s the mark of the Tiger.

Nice IPA that gravitates more to a ESB profile than the Cali inspired IPAs of today. Orange, hazy with a creamy head, floral and light sweet cereal in the aroma. Dry and bitter throughout, more floral notes with citrus rind backed with a light malty sweetness. Lasting dry/bitter finish. Quite elegant.

Hazy golden with a thin foamy white head. Big tangerine and grapefruit nose with pleasant pine resin and a bit of caramel. Nice flavorful body with a little caramel with some pine resin and a wee touch of orange/grapefruit rind. A little faint of heart but flavorful.

Golden crispy pour with a decent white head. Pine, orange peel, lemon, caramel, grass and cat pee. Nicely balanced and refreshing.

This is a very satisfying IPA. Good bitterness. Great aroma. Spicy on tongue. Fruity and bitter with zest and mango notes. I have to come back to this one.

Bra.

Weird shaped 710 ml can. Pours amber, good head. Nice lacing. Aroma of sweet malt, hop aroma in the EKG-Fuggles arena. These hops are never punchy in my experience brewing with them for many years and they are not punchy here, but well integrated in with the sweet malt. Bitterness at the end lets you know that this has higher IBUs. Pretty good ... nice drinkable beer, at 6.5% the alcohol is very well hidden. Smooth and refined beer but quite a departure from the American IPA style (this is the British IPA style). I like this more as it warms up ... the floral aspects of the EKGs and woody Fuggles become more apparent. The sweet malt stays at the forefront. Maybe this is why British drink warm beer (not because Lucas makes refrigerators).

Clean, straight forward middle of the road style. No real differentiation other than its drinkability.

amber-orange with half inch of off-white, sea-foam hea that fades to a bull’s eye. Aroma is orange, mineral, floral, pure moderately dark caramel. Flavor is some dark caramel under a resinous tree hop with a puckery bitterness. Floral notes. Body is medium-light, watery-oil with light, prickly carbonation. Overall, a decent IPA. A bit too bitter/astringent in the aftertaste.

Nice orange-amber colour with great persistent frothy ivory head. Intense grapefruit, pine, and freshly mown grass aroma. Taste has sweet malts, lemon zest, sweetened grapefruit. Good balance between sweet, bitter and dry. Medium bodied and sticky. Really good.

Pours a bright orange with a nice one finger white head with nice lacing. Aroma is of citrus, pine, tropical fruits, caramel, sweet malts, herbal hops, and some light dankness. Taste is similar to the aroma with a nice balance between bright hops and smooth malts. Has a medium body with a creamy mouthfeel and a pretty dry, moderately bitter, long finish. Overall, a pretty nice IPA that is drinkable and well balanced.
