COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Sixpoint Bengali Tiger is reminiscent of the century-old English IPA. In my perspective, many current IPAs suffer from lacking substance; unbalanced by a hoppy assertiveness that is not substantiated by a strong foundation of rich malt flavors. Our interpretation uses the highest-quality, floor-malted base malt, which lends a full-bodied and rich caramel flavor. We mash at high temperatures and add generous amounts of specialty malts to further emphasize a strong foundation of malt as leverage for our generous additions of hops… Which are indeed generous. We use a total of three different hop strains, and add a total of six different additions throughout the process. The Bengali Tiger has a hoppy snap upfront, but strides at a steady pace, and finishes balanced. The signature characteristic of the Tiger is the aroma… we use massive quantities of whole East Kent Goldings hops to dry hop in our conditioning tanks. The result? The essential oils from the hops are an enticing treat before every sip. Notice the lacing of stripes around the pint glass as you finish your glass; it’s the mark of the Tiger.

Beer pours clear golden color with a retained off white colored head. Aroma is predominantely hoppy, though a bit different from the West Coast IPAs I am used to. Taste is bitter and substantially yeasty. This strikes me as a Belgian IPA. Pretty tasty!

Can from Wetherspoon’s, Edinburgh airport. Clear golden body with a massive off-white head. Very lively carbonation. Nice lacing. Aroma of earth, orange, honey and fresh green hops. Flavour of blood orange, pine and caramel. Medium body with a very oily texture. Fizzy carbonation. Very hoppy but a bit too malt sweet for my liking.

Brilliant - herbal resinous hops jump out the glass - mirrored on the palate - low malt impact but superb balance - fantastic bitterness - touch of peppery heat at the end ?chilli - I love this - really easy to smash down. One point off because I prefer tropical fruited hops.

Can @ Wetherspoons. Hazy copper colour, thick white head, heady medicinal herbal nose with pine honey and a tad of sweet wet dog. Round mouthfeel and good solid flavour with a steely end

Standard appealing IPA appearance - slightly hazy copper with a tan head. Tasty fruity and herbal hop aromas. On the tongue this is quite bitter, but it seems to be more front loaded and doesn’t linger much. The hops provide more of a medicinal/herbal flavor with some bready malt beneath. The mouthfeel sticks a good balance between thick and thin, fizzy and flat. Good IPA, nice to see something that goes nuts with English hops.

Pours a very nice amber color with white head. Lots of citrus and pine on the nose with a little floral note sneaking in; follows onto the palate. More hop resin on the palate as well. Finishes with a nice hop bite, medium bodied.

Pours a very nice amber color with white head. Citrus, flowers, and grapefruit on the nose; all follow onto the palate. Finishes nice and clean. It does leave some nice lacing.

Growler from Ale Yeah. Big sticky sweet body and piney citrus aromas and flavors. Aggressive hop profile but a little more on the caramel side of the equation for an IPA.

Takeaway can bought at Wetherspoons. Cloudy amber with a very thin head. Has plenty of fruit in its nose and flavour. A tad sour in the palate but remains very tasty.
