Bottle at Clockwork’s Dec 8th, 2012 tasting. Pours a deep blakc body with thin brown lacing. Aroma is sharpy marker, cocoa, and light roast. Mouthfeel is medium and smooth with notes of coffee, roast, and a light bitterness. Very glad I was able to try this.

10 oz. draft at Barcade, Philadelphia. Six point brews this for the Barcade chain as an exclusive beer after it had been retired from the brewery. This was served way to cold, when it warmed and opened it it was nice. Aroma of melt chocolate bar and roasted barley. Thin tan head that lined the glass. Flavor is starts with sweet chocolate and molasses, turns to burnt coffee bean and end with a light traces of dark fruits. I get figs. The body of the stout is on the full side with the alcohol hidden really really well. Solid.

On tap at Barcade. This one was all over the place. Aroma was licorice and sweet chocolate. Pours black and sticky with a small white film. Taste is chocolate, licorice, and burnt toast. Super sweet and sticky without having a roasty enough complexity. Meh.

Oxidized dark malts on the nose. Soy, some dark smoke/burt notes. Dark chocolate cakey notes. Black pour tan head turns into a ring. Dark as fuck. Nice sweet roasty and smokey flavors. Dry and sweet but not full of over the top residual sugars, Oxidized, but flavorful. Mellowed to an awesomness. Really solid sweet/dry. Good shit.

Smooth, small beige head, lots of dark flavors. Slick and wine like, burnt toast and bacon on the morning after, refreshing, revitalizing and welcoming.

750ml batch 74 bottle 592. Pours medium dark with little to no head. Amazing aroma of burnt sugars and some coffee/mocha. Pallet was spot on hints of citrus up front, smooth with chocolate roast through the mid and finishes creamy. Not bad considering its an 05, the body level has managed to stay mid to full. I’ll see where the other two bottles I have take me someday.
