COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
American Stout, full-bodied, roasted, and highly hopped.
Each dawn is clear. Cold air bites the throat. Thick frost on the pine bough. Leaps from the tree snapped by the diesel. On the darkest days of the year, light becomes a luxury. Just when you think you cannot penetrate the darkness... SNAP! Light pierces through the roasted pine forest.

16oz can. NEEDS A PICTURE!!! Pours a clear cola with a medium, tan head dissipating quickly. Big green apple nose (acetaldehyde) with soy sauce and vegetal DMS. Tart apple taste with continuing vegetal DMS. Very gritty, powdery mouthfeel. Wildly tart back end. Overall green and cooked veggies abounding. Drainpour.

Pours black into an English pint. Mocha head with medium retention recedes leaving spot lacing to coat surface. Thin with resin and chocolate aromas. Sweet hot chocolate upfront turning to resin before the lasting charred resin finish.

Nanokeg into a pint glass. Pours a very dark translucent brown with a nice tan head with great retention. Taste is a little mild but pleasant. Lightly roasted coffe, dark chocolate, and slight hop bitterness. Palate is extremely thin for a stout which was dissapointing but very easy to drink none the less. Not bad but far from exciting.

Can from Canal’s in Lawrenceville, NJ. Pours a near black with greyish/rd highlights and a thin quickly dissipating dirty white head. Odd roasted cereal aroma with a little burnt coffee. At first, this beer reminded me quite a lot lot Rogue’s Morimoto Black Sobi - it has some sort of light vegetable thing going on. After a few sips you start to get some dark chocolate, toffee and deeply roasted malt. Very, very light texture and quite a lot of carbonation. Finishes surprisingly dry for a stout.

Draft. Light chocolate aroma, deep brown to black color, light tan head. Decent stout but body is a little too thin.

a hint of cocoa and a caramel like flavor with the taste of a coffee roasted broom straw malt and a hop profile mainly pine like with some sweetness in floral. moderate in body and stingy in the mouth from the hop. some smoothness as well.

Can. Black pour with a medium, dense tan head. Herbal and citrus hoppiness blended with strong roasted malt and coffee make up the aroma. Taste is citrus, herbal hops, floral notes, roasted malt, dark chocolate, and dark, oily coffee notes. Body is medium with a smooth, creamy carbonation. It’s almost nitro-like. Ends with more citrus, light pine, herbal hops, roasted malt, coffee and bittersweet chocolate.

Solid over all. This is 16oz can, into tulip/pint hybrid glass from Moonlight Brewing. Aroma is roasty, toasty, and a bit creamy. There are certainly hops present though the overall malt/creamyess of this beer may make me think some age would make this a bit more one dimensional. Although, there is also a bit of booze that isn’t particularly pleasant it is gone quickly once this sits for more than a minute.

ok, a loved the Bengali Tiger from this brewery, so unresearched I grabbed a 4 pack of 16oz cans. Diesel? No indication of style on packaging just some data and riddles. I see 69 ibu and reference to roasted pine forests. I think, wow this is a black india pale (sic) ale, great. Get home and look online, oh this is a stout, albeit a hoppy one. So, now I wonder, is this gonna be more like Stone Sublimely Self-Righteous or like a less ethanolic Victory Story King. Reviews are all over the place. This one would fool a lot of experience raters in a blind taste. Jet black with dark tan and frothy head. I get herbaceous earthy herbal notes and only slight roasted malt in nose and only slight soy which is good cause I dislike that, mintiness. Mouthfeel is very thin. Again, toasty malt taste is very much in the background and hop earthiness predominates. Long bitter aftertaste. This beer will neither please one expecting a stout, nor a lover of great black ipas. I’ll drink the rest but sorry I have 3 more.

16oz. Can: Aroma of malt, roasting, light licorice, soy and vanilla. Poured black/ruby in color with a tiny, tan head that disappeared quickly. Clear. Not sparkling. Flavor is lightly sweet and lightly bitter. Tastes of malt, roasting, soy sauce, vanilla, slight Bourbon, light caramel, and slight wood. Medium body. Oily texture. Average carbonation. Malt, roast, soy sauce, vanilla, caramel finish.
