2.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours a deep black with only the slightest ruby highlights when held to a light. Large sticky off-white head with lots of lacing. Thin and almost dry roast smell. Thin mouth feel. Grainy and almost burnt flavor.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Chocolate, coffee, nuts, and raisins in the aroma. Flavor starts bittersweet and nutty, with some coffee/chocolate bitterness in a somewhat chalky finish. Pretty good, but not as good as some other beers from sixpoint.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Overall its a nice interpretation of the style, but there was something in the flavor that didn’t hit my palate very well. Chalky aftertaste that was off putting. The pour, aroma, and color were all very well done, nothing too extraordinary, but appetizing. Even the flavor for the most part was fine, again, nothing too crazy, but this chalkiness in the aftertaste that became all I could taste, annoying.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
[5310-20130429] Tap. Coffee-infused toasted grains aroma. Black mahogany body with a medium-lasting creamy tan head. Boozy roasted malty grains flavour has a long sweet grains aftertaste. Full body. Interesting. (7/3/7/3/14) 3.4

Best by 16MAY12
A: dark brown, two fingers of dark peanut foam falls slowly to a sheet of the same. Near sheet lace.
S: toasted malts, coffee grounds, hint of vanilla, hint of cocoa. Dry
T: Soil, bittered and toasted malts. A little too much scorch flavor. Some nuttiness and some coffee.
M: Medium bodied with low carb and semi dry finish.
O: Not a bad beer at all. I actually think this would be better around the 90 day mark.
Serving type: can

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
From notes: Can poured into Sam Adams glass. Pours opaque black with a 3-finger dark tan head. Roasty, chocolatey aroma with a light burnt note. Body is medium-to-full, somewhat oily, with a lightly astringent finish. Flavor is roasty with some coffee underneath and a lingering burnt note. Has a light citrus note as well.

Draft to taster. Looks good; a dull black with with light beige head. Smells and tastes solid; dark malt, chocolate and roast with a bit of hops. Solid on the palate. Pretty good.

16oz can. Burgundy hued black-brown. Soapy, foamy beige head. Sort of like a Brown IPA. Nice balance between the citrus hops and the brown malt. Not overbearing, the big malts and accompanying ABV are well incorporated. Toffee caramel chocolate. Well done.

16oz can to pint glass, dark brown in appearance with large frothy head. Taste is dry roasted malt, chocolate, with some big bitter hops in the finish. Pretty smooth. Not bad.
