COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
American Stout, full-bodied, roasted, and highly hopped.
Each dawn is clear. Cold air bites the throat. Thick frost on the pine bough. Leaps from the tree snapped by the diesel. On the darkest days of the year, light becomes a luxury. Just when you think you cannot penetrate the darkness... SNAP! Light pierces through the roasted pine forest.

Hard to say what I think about this one. Although it feels reasonably thick and rich on the palate, there just isn't a lot going on here. Just some roastiness, mild astringency and some dark chocolate. Okay I suppose. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap at Tin Bucket, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out fairly harsh burnt roasted malt, with fairly aggressive hopping. Flavour is along the same lines, with burnt roasted malt dominating, along with bitter piney hops on the underside. Nicely constructed - tastes better than it smells. Very good.

Draught @ Third Avenue Ale House. Dark brown with slight reddish tint, small frothy beige head, faint coffee aroma, medium carbonation, slightly sweet mocha taste, thin body, medium bitter coffee finish. Nice stout.

On draft, pour was dark black, medium head, low lacing. Aroma of chocolate and earthiness. Flavor followed with some chalky notes, some pine, some caramel, some roast. Mouthfeel moderate in body and carbonation. A decent brew.

Tallahassee, Fl - on tap at Growler Country. Pitch black, motor oil like pour, bubbly mocha colored head, nice sticky web of lacing. Licorice and creosote find their way into the aroma. Solid, bold flavor with bittersweet baker’s chocolate, some earthy topsoil notes, a touch of espresso. Smooth mouthfeel, just a hint of chalkiness. Sixpoint is proving to be a consistent, solid brewer.

Can, as well as tap, Tap was slightly better Appearance: black with a tan head, a bit more of a head on tap (either that or I suck at pouring) Aroma: Light sweetness, some rich dark chocolate, light bitterness, caramel Flavor: Some bitterness from the chocolate balanced out nicely with caramel, excellent Palate: Semi-refreshing, a bit of sweetness and a TINY hint of alcohol My favorite beer by them I have had, which is odd since I tend to not love Stouts.
