4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours pitch black with a one finger tan head with nice lacing. Aroma is of coffee, dark chocolate, roasted malts, spicy hops, sweet malts, and molasses. Taste is about the same as the aroma with the addition of some pine and wine notes. Has a medium-full body with a pretty creamy mouthfeel and a semi bitter, slightly dry, medium-long finish. Overall, a tasty and interesting imperial porter.

10 oz. snifter at When Pigs Fly. Pours a dark brown with a one finger foamy beige head. Coffee, vanilla and a hint of cocoa on the aroma. Semi sweet taste. Like lightly sweetened coffee. Body is a bit thin, but Iím getting picky here. Very nice.

3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
On tap at Moor Pat. Very dark and impressive pour with brown head. Lots of coffee in it throughout. Slightly bitter coffee though, not the sickening sweet coffee you get sometimes. Smooth and not too killer heavy. I really liked this.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap at Spritzenhaus. Pours black with a tan head. Looks like a porter. Aroma is coffee (obviously) and more chocolate than expected. Flavor is coffee throughout. Really prominent. Which leads a more full body to it. Chocolate mixed in. One of the most full bodies Iíve tasted on a porter. Awesome

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Had on tap in Chicago -- the aroma on this beer is very deep and dark, with a hint of vanilla. Flavor is extremely complex and leans heavily on the coffee additions. Iím a very big fan of this beer. Great to drink on a cold winter day.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Location: Growler from Syosset Beverage, 10/13/14
Aroma: The aroma is heavy coffee, very roasty, bitter, just a little sweet, with dark chocolate notes
Appearance: It pours a dark brown color with a coating beige head and plus lacing
Flavor: Tastes much the same, roasted coffee up, down, and sideways, with notes of chocolate
Palate: The body is medium-plus, with an average carbonation, and a long, dry, roasty finish
This is one of the most coffee forward beers I have had in a long time. Anything else that is going on here is completely drowned out by the strong, bitter, dry coffee flavors. One dimensional, sure, but that one dimension is well done.

Pours black with low light tan head. Aroma of coffee, chocolate and vanilla. Taste is very chocolate rich up front, sweet and milk chocolatey, followed by balanced and smooth coffee bitter finish. Body is lightish with soft carbonation.
