4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Received in trade from Shane at sixpoint, hand bottled at the brewery, thanks for the opportunity and generosity.
Pours a dark brown with faint garnet highlights when held to light. Huge fluffy tan head sticks around forever and coats my glass all the way down. Smells of coffee, roasted grains and bitter dark chocolate. Tastes of coffee, chocolate, roasted grains. Creamy silky mouthfeel, medium body. medium carbonation. Another exceptional brew from sixpoint. Send your beer to NH already :)

On tap at the Blind Tiger. A great looking beer. Black with tan head.Coffee and chocolate. Nice fizz. I liked sipping this and I liked gulping this. Unfortunately, it didn’t last long. Finishes with a hoppy kick.

(OId BA rate - tap)
Near black color, with some brown tones. Nice-looking thick, milky tan head. Great lacing throughout the sample. Bittersweet chocolate, roasted malts, and lots of coffee bean aromas. Very much like roasted coffee with good malt sweetness to balance it out. Nice bitter chocolate ending on it. A bit thinner than I expected, but with nice light carbonation. Not overly mouthfilling, but still nice. This is very drinkable, even though it has a lot of strong flavors. Great sipper for cooler weather, and would recommend for after dinner. Overall, really liked this

Tap at Stags Head pours rich dark brown with rich aromas of toffee and cocoa. Tastes chocolatey, of coffee, earth, malt, slight spice and earth. Quite nice brew with velvety finish.

draft @ sunset grill - dark brown with thick tan head; nice roasty, nutty and coffee aromas; body is on the thin side, but this was a pretty tasty porter; coffee slightly muted in the flavors; gentle, soft texture; a little bitter in the finish; good stuff

Growler. Now that is a chocolaty aroma! Wow! Like a big vat of heated semi-sweet chocolate. Just a little coffee around the edges too, more of a roasted aspect comes in as it warms. Flavor not quite as wowing, but still one of a really nice porter with chocolate and coffee notes. Rich, creamy mouthfeel. A stand-up brew.

Aroma of roast coffee. Pours black with light brown film. Taste is just heavy coffee. Not much else to it.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Cask at the Blind Tiger. Dark brown pour, almost black with some tan head. Lots of fresh roasted coffee in the aroma, maybe a hint of milk. The flavor was similar: fresh coffee, some cream, coffee grounds, maybe a little chocolate. Slightly acidic with all the roastiness, bitter coffee in the finish.

This is such a great beer! Thick, rich coffee aroma flows right into a great-flavored brew. The coffee taste is great. Full of lactose-sweetness. Perfect, full-mouthfeel and even chewy. Nicely balanced, and not overly hopped, as I feared it would be.
