COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Gorilla Warfare Porter is a silky smooth porter made with 40 lbs of Park Slope’s Gorilla Coffee Ethiopian Yergacheffe blend, a Fair Trade and Organic Certified coffee roasted in Sunset Park, Brooklyn. The coffee has winey, spicy notes with hints of baker’s chocolate. Combined with patent malt, the signature of many great English-style porters, this is one silky smooth, coffee-rich porter.

Tap @ Mugs, poured into a 12oz Blue Point glass from their cask fest... whats up with that? I do not think that Sixpoint made a fresh batch of this so I think this has just been stuck in distribution (or bar) since December. This is probably why I was not as impressed as everyone else by this beer, for my tastes Sixpoint is always best fresh. Either way this is as black as night. Aroma of prune-y, watered down coffee and dark malts. Taste those aspects and is a bit weaker. Kind of got a bit of a watery feel from the body. I would love to try this fresher (if they ever make it again, which I doubt).

Received in trade from Shane at sixpoint, hand bottled at the brewery, thanks for the opportunity and generosity. Pours a dark brown with faint garnet highlights when held to light. Huge fluffy tan head sticks around forever and coats my glass all the way down. Smells of coffee, roasted grains and bitter dark chocolate. Tastes of coffee, chocolate, roasted grains. Creamy silky mouthfeel, medium body. medium carbonation. Another exceptional brew from sixpoint. Send your beer to NH already :)

Growler from skyview. The aroma is strong coffee that dominates the other flavors. The body isn’t as harsh, but still very strong.

Black pour with a thin khaki head and sticky lacing .... nice aroma of dark bakers chocolate, coffee and roasted malts .... coffee is potent in this one .... taste is of bitter dark chocolate, coffee, roasted malts very bitter and coffee like brew .... has a very bitter dark roasted dry finish with a long lingering bitterness ... the dark chocolate and coffee flavors are very solid in this brew ... has a thinner mouthfeel

Tap at Stags Head pours rich dark brown with rich aromas of toffee and cocoa. Tastes chocolatey, of coffee, earth, malt, slight spice and earth. Quite nice brew with velvety finish.

On draft at Spitzer’s Corner. Pours a dark brown cola with a medium beige head. Aroma of chocolate, roasted malt and coffee. Taste is very much like the aroma- roasted malty with hints of chocolate and coffee. Very nice.

Tap. Moderate to heavy toasted cereal, dark chocolate and strong coffee for the malt, light resin and earth for the hops and yeast, with background notes of vanilla, and toffee. Head is large, creamy, light brown with excellent lacing and is fully lasting. Color is very dark brown. Flavor starts moderately sweet and lightly acidic, then finishes lightly sweet and acidic and moderately bitter. Palate is medium for full, creamy with a soft carbonation and sticky on the lips finish. The coffee in this beer is a bit powerful, but as a Strong Porter it’s a good representation of the style.

light smoke from wood with nut caramel sweetness. Quenching cold with accompanying body, and a vanilla finish. Nice liquor aroma. Cola look to it.

Pours black with low light tan head. Aroma of coffee, chocolate and vanilla. Taste is very chocolate rich up front, sweet and milk chocolatey, followed by balanced and smooth coffee bitter finish. Body is lightish with soft carbonation.
