goldtwins (3740), Nesconset, New York, USA Nov 3, 2007 Growler supplied by the trivia master beastiefan2k. Poured a hazy red-copper color with a small off-white head. The aroma was hoppy with nice citrus and pine. Good backing of caramel malt. Light sweetness and mild alcohol round it out. Side note after an hour or so I revisited the growler and the beer smelled like a big of hop cones. Fresh and forward, very nice. The flavor was also hop forward with citrus over pine. The finish was all pine and a mild long bitterness. Dry finish and a medium body. Nice beer. Extra point for the increase in the hop aroma. JAF737300 (733), New York, New York, USA Dec 23, 2007 Growler fill from Bierkraft! Dark copper with a big head. Sweet notes dominate from the nose to the palate. It is a ful beer with a nice long hoppy fnish. Great if you can get it. sheatripper (826), Brooklyn, New York, USA Oct 22, 2007 Bierkraft growler. Pours a cloudy, almost murky dark rust/orange with a lasting frothy beige head, leaving webby lacing. Rich malty aroma together with a sweet apricot/peach/tangerine essence. Earthy and grapefruity hops abound in the nose as well. Flavor of fleshy malts, alternating between sweetness and spiciness, held together by a network of resiny hops. I’m fairly certain there’s a good portion of rye malt in the mash. Also has an underlying peach pie/peach crisp note. Nicely lasting and consistent hop bitterness left on the tongue. I’ve come to expect a heavy hop hand from Sixpoint and this doesn’t disappoint. Smooth mouthfeel and full body. A really nice creation. notalush (2075), Rawn-kawn-kohma, New York, USA Nov 3, 2007 Thanks to beastiefan2k for sharing the growler (and leaving the leftovers at our place, which I am currently consuming) - hazy red-brown beer, with a small ring of lace - strong piny hop aroma, with an undercurrent of brown sugar and nutmeg - a nice balance of strong dry hop flavor, and sweet caramel malt flavor - some light fruity character brings with it a slight tartness - some subtle spicy character - just slightly different for a sixpoint beer, but not by much - tasty, though. JoeMcPhee (3815), Jackson Heights, New York, USA Nov 3, 2007 Growler shared by beastiefan2k. Crystal clear, deep brown/orange coloured brew with a nice sticky tan head. Very hoppy aroma with lots of bright resinous pine, a touch of orange/grapefruit citrus. Good sweet biscuity malt flavour, lots of pine and a soft piny spiciness. Nice crisp rye character in the back. Classical Sixpoint and I quite like it.
