HailSquishface (13), Ferndale, Michigan, USA Apr 1, 2008 Pours a dark hazy amber with an impressive head and plenty of bubbles rising to the top.
Not much of a nose, slight sweet floral scent.
Tastes earthy with a nice hop bitterness.
Surprisingly light and dry.
Smooth and easy to drink but I wish there was more going on.
Dickinsonbeer (2505), Hoboken, New Jersey, USA Feb 20, 2008 EBF 08. Pours a slighlty hazy deep copper with a thin diminishing head. Aroma is herbal and moderatly hopped with some grassy, herbal and some tea-like hops and a wierd woodiness to it. Floral and herbla flavor - more tea, and a nutty toffeee malt sweetness and a wierd lightly astringetn and tannin finish. Very soft mouthfeel, no booze and very light for a suggested 8%? Damn this is pretty weak. RblWthACoz (959), Brooklyn, New York, USA Feb 5, 2008 Pours a hazed amber. You really have to pull for a nose, but when you get it, you get a great grass clippings and almost flower like character. Flavor is pretty interesting. Deep, but with an earthy and almost fruit tone. More like fruit that’s rearing its’ last leg. And I’m not saying that in a bad way. I just think there is a difference between a piece of vibrant fruit and a mature subdued one. Overall, it’s smooth. So is the feel. Very easily drinkable. For a strong ale, this is almost too easy to drink. bonbright7 (156), Huntington, New York, USA Jan 18, 2008 Growler from Bierkraft. The sweet caramel and coffee scents come out in wide base glass to invite a taste of the brown and gold hued ale. A dry and bitter hop taste checker the malts, thus making it hard to describe the ale with out one taste following another. JAF737300 (733), New York, New York, USA Dec 23, 2007 Growler fill from Bierkraft! Dark copper with a big head. Sweet notes dominate from the nose to the palate. It is a ful beer with a nice long hoppy fnish. Great if you can get it.
