Sregnar35 (660), Rotterdam, New York, USA Feb 9, 2008 On tap at Mahars. Poured flat brown. Aroma was toasty and sharp. Flavor was very roasted, a bit caramel sweet, and very hoppy finished, good stuff.
BREWMUSKCLES (789), WEEHAWKEN, New Jersey, USA Jun 15, 2008 toasty, malty, refreshing and otherwise a fair brew. muted flavors are still complex. yes earthy quite earthy. i got a bit of peat and really little else to speak of. balanced with a nice refreshing palate and little alcohol to sense. touch sweet yet still watery and no hop character to speak of. toasty finish. actually it was somewhat perfumy. Chapel (300), Levittown, New York, USA May 23, 2008 Medium brown. Decent bit of dark fruit/plum inspired flavors. Finishes with some piney and floral hops. Rather satisfying. notalush (2071), Rawn-kawn-kohma, New York, USA Apr 19, 2008 Dark purple beer that pours with minimal carbonation - fairly sweet aroma, with mild peat, dark fruits, bubble gum, and root vegetables - low carbonation, slick mouthfeel - starts rather sweet, with strong notes of plum - strong peat character and earthy/vegetal qualities emerge after that - spicy hops dry things out a little bit, and lingering smoke lasts long through the finish - lacks the depth of character a good scotch ale should have, but it’s fairly tasty, and the lingering smoke gives it extra points in my book. goldtwins (3740), Nesconset, New York, USA Mar 19, 2008 Tap @ SD. Very dark amber brown color with a small off-white head. Sweet, fruity malt with a mild peat nose. The flavor was sweet and maltt with chocolate and peat. Medium body.
