Bright gold translucent color with small white head and nice messy lacing. Aroma is piercing, citrusy and grassy, with slight vinous fruit notes and a little alcohol tingle. Flavor is intensely hoppy, resiny and piney, with a candy sweetness, and a faint earthy, malty finish. Mouthfeel is a bit oily with fairly evident alcohol presence, but still easy to drink. Was $12/4pk which a bit much, but fair considering the abv.

On tap at Mill House. Pours a hazed tawny amber with a medium sized white head. Big sweet citrus and sticky syrupy malt on the nose. Big and a bit sweet right away, picks up a dusty malt note, some oxidation, fruit leather and honey. Long dirty citrus on the finish, lingering grapefruit, but still sweet. Not really cloying, but probably a bit too big.

Draft->shaker. Orange/gold with small offwhite head. Tons of sweet citrus and pine hops, resin. Bold, and well-done.

Like resin, but scaled up to 11, fat, resinous, grapefruity onslaught, cloaked in a luscious velvety malt backbone, amber colour, medium white head.

Transfer from BA review on 2-8-14- Poured from can into a snifter Appearance- The beer pours a nice orange-amber color with a tiny wispy white head. The head fades almost instantly leaving a trace bit of streaky lace on the sides of the glass. Smell – The aroma of the brew is super heavy of pine and grapefruit hops. Along with these aromas are some nice sweeter tropical fruit smells with mango, tangerine and papaya all there. Some grassy hops meld with the rest of the hop aromas nicely and with a biscuit and bready aroma creating a base, overall the beer has a nicely hopped and fruity aroma. Taste – The taste of the brew begins with a fruity flavor with lots of tropical fruits of mango and tangerine. A good deal of grapefruit hop is present from the start with it maintaining a good showing throughout the taste. Some caramel flavors develop soon after the initial taste with them growing stronger in the middle and then fading again at the end. Once the caramel fades the fruity flavors intensity more making up for the loss of the caramel sweetness. A pine hop flavor begins developing more in the middle of the taste with it also joined by some grassy and light earthy hop flavors. The pine and grass increase to the end, with the pine being the more potent of the two. All throughout the taste there is a nice bready base that supports all these nice hop flavors nicely. In the end, a moderate amount of boozy flavors come to the tongue, combining with the sweet, bready and hoppy flavors to leave a nice heavy and warming, slightly resinous IPA flavor to linger on the tongue. Mouthfeel – The beer is on the average side for a brew of 11.1 % in terms of its thickness and creaminess with a carbonation level that is on the higher side for the abv. While the body is fairly nice for the mix of hoppy and sweet, in my opinion the carbonation was a bit too high for a double of its strength, with a slightly lower carbonation likely better for the mix of bread, hop and booze. Overall – A good tasty brew, but in some ways lesser then resin (even though more potent). I am glad I tried it, but I would likely stick with resin on most accounts as it is more balanced, about as flavorful, lower in abv. and less expensive. But for this one, I must say, if you have not had it then you may want to give it a try for yourself to see what you think.

Can from from Stewarts Wine Company April 2014. Another nice looking can and even better beer inside. Resinous in the mouth, almost medicinal like finish.

On tap 6 oz. sampler at The Bistro in Old Line Wine in Beltsville, MD. Clear, bright orange-gold with an off-white head and excellent lacing. Aroma of caramel, citrus, pine, peach and orange. Taste of peach, orange, caramel, citrus and pine. Medium body and medium carbonation. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Serving: Can. Pours a nice amber color. Sweet, boozy nose with a bit of resin. The flavor is overly sweet, boozy, and slightly medicinal. Some tropical fruit and plenty of resin. Lingering, unpleasant finish. Not impressed by this one.

Poured into tulip. Golden orange with quickly-disappearing off-white foamy head. Sweet resiny hop aromas with grapefruit and pine. A bit sticky with high carbonation and rich hops. Strong malty backbone balanced things out nicely. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pour out of 12 oz can, hazy orange-red pour with white head, aroma brought notes of caramel, toffee, hints of earth, touch of orange, grapefruit, grass, pine, hints of grainy notes, touch of old hop notes as well. Taste is a mix of caramel, toffee, hints of orange, grapefruit, pineapple, touch of old hops but not bad, hints of grain, syrupy a bit, finishing bitter.

Little fucken can @ home, thanks to Armin for sharing. Pours a murky dark orange appearance with a cream colored head. Somewhat spicy orange citrusy aroma. Medium bodied. High sweetness. Moderate to high bitterness. Fairly citrusy. Orange, grapefruit, pineapple. Kind of goopy. Ok.
