JohnQPublic (146), Brooklyn, New York, USA Jul 5, 2008 Growler into Sam Adams Lager glass. Pours opaque cloudy orange with a big, rocky off-white head. Aroma is biscuity malt and citrus hops, hint of pine. Taste is sweet citrus and caramel malt on the front, with a prickly earthy, piney hop character emerging on the back of the tongue, and soft lingering bitterness on the finish that coats the throat, along with a hint of biscuity malt. Mouthfeel is creamy, with a subdued carbonation. Like their IPA, the malt never really emerges from the hops -- it comes out a bit underneath, but never really establishes a presence independent of the hoppy character. Good beer - interesting, and very drinkable.
Brewso (236), Minnetonka, Minnesota, USA Aug 13, 2008 Growler from whole foods in the villiage. Enjoyed with a ginormous slice of Artichoke pizza from, where else, Artichoke. Really delicous pale with nice sweet malt and sharp hops. GO OBAMA bu11zeye (3628), Frisco, Texas, USA Aug 6, 2008 (Draught) Pours a hazy amber body with a small off-white head. Aroma of florals/herbs, citrus, and biscuit. Flavor of hops (pine, resin, herbs, grass) and caramel malt with a bitter finish. alumbis (7), Brooklyn, New York, USA does not count Aug 6, 2008 Cloudy poor, crisp IPA like flavor, definitely hoppy. Not overwhelming and doesn’t finish overly dry. bp (275), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 19, 2008 Draft: cloudy orange, hoppy aroma, dry hoppy ale with plenty of malt presence, not bad PilsnerPeter (1376), Flushing, New York, USA Jul 14, 2008 Tap at Barcade: Hazy, deep orange pour with a creamy off-white head. Earthy hop aroma. Some citrus qualities come through along with caramel and a biscuit character. Slightly fizzy feel. Flavor is a twiggy/earthy hop character along with candied citrus fruits. Has a biscuity back and a long earthy/spicy hoppy finish. A satisfying and earthy Pale Ale.
