WoB Gainesville. Nice chocolate flavor in the mid palate but a bit of a cheap whiskey finish and a touch boozy. Surprisingly not very sweet. Would have again, I suppose.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: JUN 16, 2015 On tap at The Brass Tap (Tampa).
Opaque and essentially black in the glass but with ruby highlights. Excellent lacing leaves the glass about 95% coated.
Aroma: Sweet and woody and boozy, surprising me because I didn’t know this was a whisky barrel aged ale. Nicely done.
Flavor: delicious; very lightly sweet. Mild but lingering aftertaste.
O: excellent RIS with plenty, but not too much, bourbon barrel additions.

On tap at The Growler on Stone St., NYC. Smells of molasses, similar to Black Note in texture. Feels like a sweet syrupy sipper. Rich maple notes on the tongue, chocolate and whiskey finish.
