bonbright7 (157), Huntington, New York, USA Jan 7, 2008 I had a pint of this in the late afternoon today with a meal at Lil’ Frankies on 19 1st Ave, NYC, which I highly suggest to anyone looking for a great Italian place in the Lower East Side. The abundance of hops sparkled in the grapefruit aromas and the first taste brought back memories of a place I had visited in the mid 80’s that brewed it’s own beer in NYC besides McSorleys. The unusual taste had a lightly smooth malty element that seemed to twist and turn with every sip. sheatripper (826), Brooklyn, New York, USA Aug 13, 2006 Hazy light orange, thin head. Basically similar to the Bengali Tiger. IPAish piney grapefruit hop aroma and flavor but the hops in this are sharper, leaving a strong and lasting bitterness whereas the BT leaves a smoother tea-like dryness. N.B.- This rating was attempted amongst loud Sat. night Village mayhem, aromas of garlicy pizzas all around me, and after drinking a few other beers. Went really well with the pizza however. beastiefan2k (1120), Lawrence (formely NYC), Kansas, USA Jul 19, 2006 This is a pale ale made especially for his restuarant. So thats where I went to get it. Of course, it was served in a frosted pint glass (thanks?). Color is cloudy, dense orange, cannot see through the beer. Aroma is all hop - not over the top but pleasantly present. Taste is similar - get some creaminess (simcoe?). Finishes with a bit of bitterness. Mouthfeel is fine. Again, a fine beer but nothing special. Drinkable.
