Draft to taster. Looks good for the style; a slightly cloudy orange with white head. Smells and tastes of smoke and mild funk/dampness with a fairly tart mouthfeel. Solid beer.

Draft. Golden pour with white head. Aroma has very floral and weird fruit and spice tones. Tartness and floral fruity flavor with some spices, popouri almost in nature. Not for me?

Tap at Scion. Pours full haze straw with healthy white foam. Great lacing. Holy lord that aroma- somewhere between super rank bleu cheese and foot odor. This is one of those love it or hate it aromas. Funky as hell where I was enjoying it but my wife promptly left the entire bar. Yes she did. Aroma is somewhere between a 1 and a 7...depending on your funk love level. Taste is super clean, smoked Berliner Weiss essentially with lemonade acidity and refreshment. Sessionable if you hold your nose.

Taster on tap at Cock & Bull in Hyde Park. Mildly hazy yellow orange color. Thin ring of off-white head. Couple dots of lace. Such a funky smell.. Itís like sweaty socks and the inside of a gym. Maybe some bruised citrus fruit in the aroma, armpits, ballsack, salt. Such a weird aroma, but itís kind of hard not to keep smelling it. Perplexing savory, smokey aroma. Only a very light tart taste, maybe a hint of creme and wheat. Actually pretty tasty, this is starting to appeal to me. Light to medium body, kind of a creamy texture. Very light carbonation. More dry finish. This was a lot better than expected, judging from the description and the nose. Good stuff, very tasty overall. Glad for the chance to try it.

Snifter at Lockdown in Chicago. I donít know why my version is so different than others, maybe its been working overtime compared to the other kegs. Because I basically received a horrendous cheese bomb, unbearably poor lacto conditioning. I had the non beer geeks folks around me smell it and everyone was pretty put off by it. This is in line with the bad lacto aroma in the Berliner but even worse. The flavor, fortunately, was just an acceptable level of bad. And it was smokey, which is a good thing. I was lucky enough that my next beer was a diacetyl bomb (Port Board Meeting) and I got to blend the two to make a drinkable bad beer compared to a horrid mess.

At stags head. Bartender gave samples before people purchased and most people screamed and left bar. I have stuffy nose which helped enjoy this. Pours yellowish green with white head. Nose of parmigiana and lemon. Tastes of citrus, potpourri, blue cheese, 7Up, and yeast maybe some hammy smoke as well. Not terrible despite being kinda a disaster. If that makes sense.

On tap at Whole Foods. Pours a hazy lemon yellow with fading white head, no lacing. Aroma is blue cheese and sea salt. Flavor is mild sour and tart with a salty finish. Zesty lemon citrus, blue cheese, smoke and bread dough. Complex and unique.

Draft at Scion. Cloudy yellow color, large white head. Aroma of bleu cheese. Taste is softly sour lemon with subtle toast, slightly tart finish with a bit of pepper. Interesting.
