Dickinsonbeer (2550), Hoboken, New Jersey, USA Mar 11, 2007 Updated: Jul 2, 2008Rerate- Bottle from Weeare182. THis was a bit better than the cask I had at Spuyten a year ago. Aroma is a bit more lively- the carbonation is there- it seemed a bit more clean, not as dull, not as oxidized as it was then, seemed more real- and not fake as I had thought last year. - Still lots of acedic acid and turning towards a strong flemish red even though that probably isnt the intention. This is somwhat along the same lines as a de dolle oerbier reserva, although not really all that close to that kind of caliber.
12 oz gravity pour from a Pin at Spuyten Duyvil. Pours still, dirty hazy, deep reddish purple. Aroma is wine, grape juice, sugary sweet- almost artificial, oak, rotting wood, and phenolic-medicinal. Slick wierd medicinal flavor, with some oak, vanilla, lots of wine and grape tannins, more artificial sweetness- aspartame, and astringent metallic finish. Slick and thin.
