TomDecapolis (2481), Skippack, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 31, 2007 Thanks to weeare138 for sharing this one hand bottled by the brewer. Pours a lightly hazy ruby amber with a medium bubbly off white head. Aroma of caramel, lightly earthy, perfume, some toasted malts, slight butterscotch and some floral. Flavor of sweet caramel malts, some toastiness, some light hop bitterness, some light pine. GirlyBeer (178), Biddeford, Maine, USA Feb 15, 2006 EBF ’06: I really wasn’t a fan of this beer. Spicy, hoppy. The guy that poured it for me told me it was an Imperial Red. apoptosis (1316), Long Island, New York, USA Jan 21, 2006 (Tap) Nice-looking red ale, with a big head. Hoppy aroma, pretty much in-your-face...like most of 6-point’s beers tend to be. Sweet, but not syrupy. A little touch of cocoa compliments the malts. Yeasty and citrusy. I liked it. tiggmtl (4179), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Nov 25, 2005 Strong grapefruit and floral hop nose with some caramel and cocoa undertones. Clear amber-brown with a low, fine bubbled, off white head that recedes to partial cover. Biscuity and bready malt character is subsumed with grapefruit, floral, spicy hops that become overpowering. Some caramel malt is notable. Bitterness is strong but not overwhelming. Sweetness re-emerges in the finish and lasts on the tongue. Despite sweetness, this comes across as fairly dry with medium body and moderately prickly carbonation. Sampled on tap in NYC with Olivier_MTL and Rastacouere.
