COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
It’s been less than a year since we released our four core beers in cans, and we’re ecstatic to announce a new addition to the flock. This isn’t a seasonal release, like the Autumnation of last fall or Diesel, still going ’round this winter. It isn’t our upcoming spring seasonal can, either. It’s a never-before-released, big beer in a slim, 12 oz. can with a potent burst of hops and as strong as an ox: Resin. We zeroed in on the botanical structure of the hop cone to get to the essence of this beer. When hops are at their peak maturity, their cores swell up with a sticky, golden, resinous substance that is the flavor you crave from an IPA. WIth an IBU of 103 and ABV of 9.1%, Resin can be loosely described as a double IPA — but rarely do Sixpoint beers adhere to any strict style demands.

Golden pour with white head. Aroma is pine and citrus. Taste adds a little floral. Sticks to your tongue.

This beer is so good I chew on the empty cans for hours just to get all the drops that stayed in the can

From a can to a glass. Light golden in color. You can really pick up the pine in the aroma. Pine, hop and slightly citrusy flavor. This is an awesome beer.

Pours a clear golden color with white head. Pine, citrus, and some floral notes on the nose; follows onto the palate. As the name states, a lot of hop resin on the palate. Finishes bitter.

Can from julios. Pour slightly hazy amber with small head. Not much lacing. Nose dried peaches and apricots with piny and resinous hops. Taste piny and resinous hops with some oily notes. Finish rather oily and resinous with some malt and caramel. Some caramel on nose as well. Persistent resinous and piny hops with fruity dried apricots and plums. It seems to have a bit of age so I guess it had a bit more bouquet when fresh. Overall not bad but nothing special. I was expecting a bit more from this brewery.

UPDATED: MAR 16, 2016 16/3/2016 draught at Archive, West End, Brisbane. Poured a cloudy amber colour with a white collar that didn’t lace. Carbonation moderate and fine. Aroma subtly of sweet pineapple with hints of citrus and resin. Taste of spices, pineapple and slight citrus/grapefruit; alcohol well hidden. Medium body. Crisp with a lingering slight bitterness (over-rated and over-priced by Archive). BB 13Jul2014. Poured a hazy orangey amber with a one- to two-finger white foamy head that retained well and laced well. Carbonation low with medium sized bubbles. Aroma of sweet fresh floral hops, really strong and nice. Taste initially of fresh but quite bitter hops followed by some sweetness mid-palate then with a palatable bitter after-taste; alcohol is well hidden. Medium body. Dry with a bitter but soft finish. One to sip and enjoy! Very nice!

Largish white head, fairly thick. Clear orange gold. Citrus, grapefruit particularly, resinous (self-evident I suppose). Quite bitter initially, mellows into some sweetness, finishes bitter. Quite acidic, slightly oily medium body. Long finish. Alcohol doesn't really come through in a meaningful way. A lot going on, but reasonably drinkable for a big double IPA. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Piney. Hoppy in aroma. So smooth on the tongue. Stone fruit in taste. Bit grassy but oh so pleasant in mouthfeel. No sign of high ABV. Proves cans work. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

The name of this beer caught my attention so I figured why not give it a try. It’s pretty good. I wasn’t sure what to expect with it so I kept my mind open. It was a very pleasant taste. Not a hop bomb, not a tropical fruit bomb but it did have a really hoppy bite to it and a nice malty backbone. It was super balanced and for never hearing about it I was pleasantly surprised. Definitely worth trying. I had it on tap, so I’m not sure how it is out of the can.
