Itís been less than a year since we released our four core beers in cans, and weíre ecstatic to announce a new addition to the flock. This isnít a seasonal release, like the Autumnation of last fall or Diesel, still going íround this winter. It isnít our upcoming spring seasonal can, either. Itís a never-before-released, big beer in a slim, 12 oz. can with a potent burst of hops and as strong as an ox: Resin. We zeroed in on the botanical structure of the hop cone to get to the essence of this beer. When hops are at their peak maturity, their cores swell up with a sticky, golden, resinous substance that is the flavor you crave from an IPA. WIth an IBU of 103 and ABV of 9.1%, Resin can be loosely described as a double IPA ó but rarely do Sixpoint beers adhere to any strict style demands.

UPDATED: NOV 17, 2014 Fresh and warm aroma, hops and alcohol. Clear orange pour with a small white head and some decent lacing. Taste is wickedly fresh pine hops and some bitter citrus fruits, orange peel and grapefruit. Sticky palate but still smooth. Delicious across the board, well done.

Well looks like Iím going against the grain here. I so wanted to like this one and drank all 4 cans out of the pack at different times hoping each day it would be better than the prior. I was let down. Very very boozy to the point of difficulty drinking. Iím all for a high gravity offering But that shouldnít be itís main characteristic. No balance whatsoever and the taste was a tad "off". My first try with this brewery.

Aroma: massive hops, floral, hay, sweet prunes, molasses. Appearance: dark hazy gold, big creamy white head. Taste: medium bitter. Palate: sweets are coming up, flowers, fruits, yet bitters persist in the long finish. Overall: decent IIPA, but was hoping for a bit more complexity. Can from Drinks of the World Zurich HB, Switzerland.

(Draught at Bishopís Arms Folkungagatan, Stockholm, 10 March 2014) Amber colour with frothy, off-white head. Malty, hoppy nose with notes of citrus, grapefruit, caramel, toffee and apricots. Malty, hoppy taste with grapefruit, orange peel, caramel, resin, pine needles and an impressive piney, citric bitterness in the finish. Almost full body, with a certain sweetness. Impressive and fresh hop character, all backed up by a solid malt backbone. Lovely beer!
