12 oz slim can. The look is clear, off whitish head, and golden in color. The smell is very hops, resinous, grassy, caramel, sweet, stale and not bad. The taste is hops, smooth bitterness, chessy, grass, caramel, pine, and ok.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Not as nice as their normal IPA - the alcohol and sweetness outdid themselves. Still respectable.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Can. Hazy deep amber body. Frothy, off-white head, slowly diminishing. Aroma of resin, pine, mint, citrus, caramel. Hint of toasted grain. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet and moderately to heavily bitter. Medium body, watery texture that turns sticky, lively carbonation. Taste of sticky caramel coated with resinous hops. Long, lingering bitterness combined with hot, liquor-like alcohol. Peppery with a hint of citrus, especially lemon. Lots going on here, but you have to dig deep to get to it because of this is a resin hop bomb.

Can from Choice Beverages in McKinney. Pours a rich copper color with a medium white head. The aromas are grass, pine, citrus. The mouthfeel is dry, bitter and has a medium body with good carbonation. This was an excellent beer! Cheers!

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Sixpoint Resin is a clear, golden ale covered in a soft, thick, yellowed foam that leaves intricate lacing on the glass. It has a strong, fresh aroma of grapefruit and lumber. It smells almost a touch sour-- "nose tart". It’s very full and soft in the mouth and it leaves the tongue a little singed. It’s bursting with fresh hop flavor and quite bitter. Grapefruit peel bitterness becomes wooden and, finally, resiny at the finish and throughout the aftertaste, where it picks up some juniper and black pepper. The whole affair is pretty dry. I really love a beer like this. It’s strong and heavy enough to support all those hops and the malt never creates any conflict.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
12 oz. can served in a FFF 15th Anniversary pint. Best by date of January 2013.
A: Pours a clear amber color with a one finger off white head forming on the pour. It recedes to a frothy collar and leaves some traces of sticky lace behind.
S: Definitely lives up to its name so far. Big pine needle and resinous hops are right up front with this guy. Some candied sugar sweetness with a little alcohol flavors.
T: Piney and resinous hops, but there is lingering malt bill that makes it a little sweeter. Definitely hop oils create a lingering bitterness that lasts through out. There is also a lingering alcohol flavor as well.
M: Medium bodied. A little sticky with medium carbonation. Lasting bitterness in the finish.
O: Ho hum in my book. Pretty one dimensional in the flavor. Definitely take a pass on this one.

tin shared with mathieuc, tom10101 minderbinder and others. thanks mathieuc. pours clear light golden orange with a nice off-white head, good retention, some lacing. caramel malts, candi, some resin - as in not as resinous as i thought it would be, peppery, hint of sweetness. average carbonation, medium body - very oily, medium long resinous but mostly citrusy finish. ok.
