Itís been less than a year since we released our four core beers in cans, and weíre ecstatic to announce a new addition to the flock. This isnít a seasonal release, like the Autumnation of last fall or Diesel, still going íround this winter. It isnít our upcoming spring seasonal can, either. Itís a never-before-released, big beer in a slim, 12 oz. can with a potent burst of hops and as strong as an ox: Resin. We zeroed in on the botanical structure of the hop cone to get to the essence of this beer. When hops are at their peak maturity, their cores swell up with a sticky, golden, resinous substance that is the flavor you crave from an IPA. WIth an IBU of 103 and ABV of 9.1%, Resin can be loosely described as a double IPA ó but rarely do Sixpoint beers adhere to any strict style demands.

UPDATED: APR 9, 2016 Amber-yellow color. Clear with a white, disappearing, head of foam; wish the head was more resilient. At least as hoppy as any IPA should be - especially an imperial. Acidic. Tastes of lemon peel. The bitterness compliments the acidic nature and leaves a crisp-bite finish. Pretty sweet overall.

Flowery aroma. Hoppy, some dried fruits. Pretty decent. Flavor is quite sweet. Mildly bitter, bit of a yellow fruit feel as well. Nice hopbitter in the end. Full bodied, sticky texture... Definitely a good quencher.

Can poured to a snifter, and enjoyed along with the Brewdogs watching the Brooklyn episode. I donít watch this show as much as I would like, but it definitely inspires me to drink good beer at the same time. Especially if I have a bottle or can of the same beer they are drinking. Can picked up in Portland. Hop heavy aroma. Fruity up front, with a huge blast of tropical like hops in the finish. Like a sweet mango. High carb. Sweet, and very flavorful. Delicious imperial. Wind blowing over both testes.

Strong pine resin, super strong aroma and taste. Tropical and citrus is more my style. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Canned. Best by June 3, 2016. Pours honey color, white head. Aroma is fairly dank, some pine, resin (not as much as I expected though), tropical fruits. Flavor is sweet alcoholic sugars, a slight berry note, tropical fruit, quite a bit of dankness and then the resin comes in. Kind of oily slick mouthfeel. Fairly bitter hop resinous finish that gets increasingly hoppy as you go. Actually really pleasant.

On tap at Metro Pub. Sixpoint is winning me over. Another good beer. Clear golden pour with frothy head. Aroma of citrus/orange. Lots of citrus all over this. Pulpy and sweet with a strong bitter kick. Alcohol burn was appealing. Good beer. I will buy cans of this.

Deep gold brew with fast fading head that smells of pine, serious pine. Taste is a hard core pine resin that makes this an excellent IPA and one that I would love to drink regularly. Would say this is the perfect brew if it wasnít for the high price tag on it. Could overlook that since it is 9.1 ABV but the six pack was the same price as some 6-7% ABV really good twelve pack IPAís. So for the price and the ABV (cause I am all about the kick) I will have to go with the twelve packs. On the 4th one from this six pack and still loving it.

Can ordered at Patís Tap on South Mpls. Poured into pint glass. Floral notes on the nose with hoppy resin characteristics as well. Golden orange in color with initial froth action that dissipates. Taste is very smooth and resiny with a nice hop bitterness that melds into the overall drinking experience really well. Solid earthy, pine taste also comes into play. Impressed by this one. Bigger nose than taste but itís very easy to drink at this alcohol level. Makes me excited to sample more of this breweryís efforts.
