COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
It’s been less than a year since we released our four core beers in cans, and we’re ecstatic to announce a new addition to the flock. This isn’t a seasonal release, like the Autumnation of last fall or Diesel, still going ’round this winter. It isn’t our upcoming spring seasonal can, either. It’s a never-before-released, big beer in a slim, 12 oz. can with a potent burst of hops and as strong as an ox: Resin. We zeroed in on the botanical structure of the hop cone to get to the essence of this beer. When hops are at their peak maturity, their cores swell up with a sticky, golden, resinous substance that is the flavor you crave from an IPA. WIth an IBU of 103 and ABV of 9.1%, Resin can be loosely described as a double IPA — but rarely do Sixpoint beers adhere to any strict style demands.

This little four pack is a little honey! Don’t let the can fool you this has a wallop of flavor inside! It is hoppy but is fresh and has a clean feel to it. It is not overpowering. I would take this fella if you went fishing or had nothing better to do than listen to Christopher Cross. I say if you are a fan of IPA go check it out! I say, yes!!!

can. lightly hazy gold with a very large, fluffy, white head. ctirus and pine with a bit of spicy cinnamon in the aroma. could there be some amarillo? very light and fluffy body. flavors are delicate balance of hop and malt sweetness, never too harsh or overly bitter. low carbonation, drinks like juice. abv is hidden. i’m really liking some these sixpoint offerings.

Aroma of grapefruit, citrus and flowers. The taste is similar. Complex flavour and aroma. Dry finish. Medium carbonation.

pour is a nice orange, with about a finger of white head. Bitter zesty grapefruit nose. Sticky bitter hop flavor, bitter sweet finish. Not over bearingly hoppy. Good, not world class.

Can @ Haket Bar, Göteborg. Courtesy of Inge.

Somewhat disappointing. Color and ample head is inviting, but the aroma and taste doesn’t live up to the description. Aroma is malty, lacking any hops. The taste is pretty much the same. Maybe it’s better on tap.

A - Pours a hazy honey amber with 3 fingers of cream colored head. The head melts slow and steady while leaving very little lacing. S - Pine oils, leafy green hops, spearmint, sweet pungent citrus, tropical fruits, dense pale malt. T - Follows the name, resinous pine with bright ruby red grapefruit, leafy green hops, faint mint, grapefruit pith bitterness quickly cuts through the sweetness. The hop oils blanket the palate. A shortbread malt provides mild sweetness with some saltiness on the back end. Has a bright grapefruit bitterness long through the finish. M - Oily, bitter, resinous, medium body, medium creamy carbonation. I love this DIPA! It’s everything I want in the style. Loads of sticky, oily hops, creating a bright sweetness but plenty of bitterness. I know people say this alot, but I would seriously have this in the fridge at all times if I could get it in Oklahoma. It’s nice to see a step away from the American Strong Ale, Barleywine category. Seek this out! Serving type: can 09-11-2012

Can courtesy of "AKFaust". Colour...dark gold with a thick off white head. Nose...leans towards the grapefruit side as opposed to the pine side, with wisps of citrus pith, to boot. Palate...ahhhh! Here’s where the "resin" comes out to play! A very resinous, though not cloying, hoppy aspect is present and saying, "Hey look! I’m here!! The grapefruit comes back as does a semi-piney flavour with a semi sweet candy like flavour reminiscent of citrusy boiled sweets. A dandy IPA that is indeed resinous!

Huge, vaporous, hempy aromatics - pineapple and toffee tones. Mostly clear, light bronze beer. Immense fluffy head, which lasts a long time. Green Red Bull-style 12 oz can whcih made me think I was having an 8 oz beer. Smooth and assertive at the same time - sort of a James Bond effect. Lots of hops, a certain sweetness, light candy (brickle, toffee), bongwater. Finishes out with a dry maltiness and with a moderate hop bittering which fades with extreme reluctance. Pretty impressive. ABC Liquors, Betton.

Big hop aromas with lots of pine, earthy and herbal notes. Not for beginners, big hop flavor and the abv comes through in the body of this one in a way that makes me wanna say you could cellar a bottle of this for a year or two and that would do it some good. Crisp bitter finish decent beer.
