Itís been less than a year since we released our four core beers in cans, and weíre ecstatic to announce a new addition to the flock. This isnít a seasonal release, like the Autumnation of last fall or Diesel, still going íround this winter. It isnít our upcoming spring seasonal can, either. Itís a never-before-released, big beer in a slim, 12 oz. can with a potent burst of hops and as strong as an ox: Resin. We zeroed in on the botanical structure of the hop cone to get to the essence of this beer. When hops are at their peak maturity, their cores swell up with a sticky, golden, resinous substance that is the flavor you crave from an IPA. WIth an IBU of 103 and ABV of 9.1%, Resin can be loosely described as a double IPA ó but rarely do Sixpoint beers adhere to any strict style demands.

UPDATED: SEP 5, 2013 Light cloudy orange with large white fluffy head and solid lacing. Aroma is very citrusy and piney. Flavor has light malts with a sharp sweet fruitiness and finishes with a very bitter grapefruit and perfuminess. Good overall

UPDATED: FEB 20, 2013 Bursting with orange, tangerine scent and a juicy pink grapefruit taste. Plenty of bitterness bite but not unpleasant. Leaves a sticky/sour mouth aftertaste due to the strong citrus flavors.

Maravilhosa e encorpada imperial AIPA. Aroma intenso, cítrico, que persiste ate o ultimo gole. Bastante lúpulo nessa breja. Paladar amargo, intenso, notas de resina, amargor pancada! 103 IBUs!!! Corpo bom. Retrogosto amargo e duradouro. Ótima breja! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Great color here, love the more amber pour than many of the doubles out there - the head here dissipates a bit more quickly, and the mouthfeel is a bit more viscous. The biggest points here come from aroma and aftertaste - love the citrus burst.

Can pours a golden amber. Nice fresh citrus hop nose. Slight floral sweetness to the hop flavor, with nice bitterness. Almost spicy finish

Pours a clear gold with a hint of amber-red, with a small white head. Smells of resin, grapefruit, pine, caramel. taste is sweet and bitter - tangerine, pink grapefruit, caramel - less bitter than itís claimed 103 IBU led me to expect, balanced with a candy-sweetness. Though as I drink it, the bitterness grows relative to the sweetness.

Can:   Deep orangish straw, hazy, super huge pillowy white head, sticky lacing.   Thick pithy and resiny nose.   Sweet citrus peel and candied pith on the tongue.   Bitter, but not biting.   Decent sweet caramel malt base, balances out well with the bitterness.   Body and mouthfeel are full to moderate.   Smooth finish, lovely hop profile that isnít overly bitter.   Very fresh, vibrant, and tasty!

Resin pours a very clear, light gold color with a fluffy finger width head. Lots of tiny bubbles floating to the surface gives Resin an extremely appetizing appearance. The aroma is classic west coast hops. Full of citrus, pine and a bit of spice. In the flavor there is a fantastic mix of citrus and pine, with only a light malt backbone. Resin definitely showcases the excellent flavor and aromas of the hops. The slight spice is still present in the flavor. This is an incredibly easy to drink beer, with no hint of the 9.1% ABV. It is a little sticky (hence the resin?). Thereís an average carbonation, and a medium body. Overall: Sixpointís Resin is a superb double IPA. Setting this beer apart from other double IPAs is just how easy to drink it is. If I had wanted to, I could have thrown it back in a couple long swigs, itís just that good. Yet it is full of such great IPA flavor, without an intrusive hop bitterness. Sure, itís still a bitter beer, just not overly so. If you see this one at the store, pick it up!!!

Nice sweet hoppy nose. Good smooth flavor with a slow cheek burn of hops. Not at all hoppy on the top of the mouth. I guess I like it. :) Maybe this Sweet Action set me up well for it. I forgot to rate it I enjoyed it so much. Sixpoint makes some mighty fine beers.
