COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Itís been less than a year since we released our four core beers in cans, and weíre ecstatic to announce a new addition to the flock. This isnít a seasonal release, like the Autumnation of last fall or Diesel, still going íround this winter. It isnít our upcoming spring seasonal can, either. Itís a never-before-released, big beer in a slim, 12 oz. can with a potent burst of hops and as strong as an ox: Resin. We zeroed in on the botanical structure of the hop cone to get to the essence of this beer. When hops are at their peak maturity, their cores swell up with a sticky, golden, resinous substance that is the flavor you crave from an IPA. WIth an IBU of 103 and ABV of 9.1%, Resin can be loosely described as a double IPA ó but rarely do Sixpoint beers adhere to any strict style demands.

12oz can, with an awesome-looking barcode. Canít find a datestamp on it, but it tastes fresh to me. Nice, thin khaki head that fades a bit. Hazy yellow -orange -amber color. Good lace. This is a unique hop aroma to me, itís in a very specific fruit direction, mango, maybe... I like it. Along with resin in the aroma, of course. Itís a very dry assertive almost biting hop wave. Nice, crisp carbonation, and dry texture. Great, strong bitter taste, little alcohol. Unmistakingly a double IPA.

Pours an amber color with an off-white head. Aroma is strong of the citrus hops with some caramel malts and a hint of alcohol. Flavor is strong of the citrus hops and grapefruit. Slight warming on the finish as well.

Pours a clear copper color with a medium sized white head. Aroma of citrus and caramel. Flavor of resin & citrus with a good caramel maly backbone. Pretty good.

Draft. Amber pour with tab head. Earthy pine, resinous hop aromas. Citrus floral and pine hop, and sweet tones malt influence I would guess.

Pours dark amber with white frothy head and tons of lacing. Aromas of caramels, citrus notes. Taste is malty sweet with the bitterness kicking in quick. Pretty heavy bodied IPA, with finish that is dry and very bitter. Overall, I enjoy the flavor and bitterness, but maybe a bit too heavy for my IPA tastes.

Can. Pours a slightly hazy golden orange with a small frothy head. The nose is heavy with oranges and pineapples with a little bit of pine tar or something lurking behind the scenes. A fairly sweet hone present shows up too, so Iím interested to see how this tastes. First sip reveals a little bit of a heavy handed malt presence up front... caramel and honey with a slightly grainy texture to it. The hops kicks in quickly though... a bit of a resin flavor at first and then a transition to oranges and then a sweet and tropical finish. It seems like this beer varies a bit between sips... sometimes the hops come across as very aggressive and sometimes the malt seems to drive the bus. Either way, itís pretty good stuff.

12oz can from Bear World. Dark amber with a billowy off white head that settles to a finger. Obviously resin...light citrus, and apart from some malt not much else makes it through. Smooth, sweet, muted alcohol, moderate carbonation and decent body, becomes more bitter, eventually quite dry, fruity, long finish that is quite tasty. Was very surprised by this one - quite good.

Beauiful citrus aroma, cloudy golden color, white head. Sort of a grapefruit taste the way the hops are blended.
