3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
12 oz. can poured into a snifter
Pours a golden amber with a three finger fluffy white head with great retention. Quite a bit of beautiful lacing present as the head slowly subsides. A strong aroma of piney hops with undertones of fruity sweetness greets the nose. True to the name bold pine resin upfront, sweet malt in the middle, and the finish is piney and dry. Perfectly carbonated, with a strong malt backbone that lends to a medium-bodied brew, but one that doesnít interfere with the silky smoothness. A solid DIPA which would certainly be enjoyed by those that appreciate a drier finish.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pour is a deep dark shade of orange with a small white head, strong lacing. Nose is dominated by citric hops with a few other underlying tones. Taste is extremely similar to the nose.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pine nose, not strong with lime peel accents, not as strong as the name might imply. Cloudy amber, thin yellow head, good lacing. Lime peel initially, but thereís an ironic surge of malt at midpalate. A base grapefruit undercurrent is present. Finishes with grapefruit peel. It isnít resinous, again as the name suggests, but I wouldnít want it to be. Unlike the aroma, there is no problem with the strength, although it does seem tame for an IIPA. Medium body, exceptional masking of alcohol. Drinks like a slightly weighty IPA, kind of a tweener. Misnamed and almost mis-categorized, but delicious and very drinkable.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
12oz slimboy can. Poured a light amber color, very murky. Aromas of grapefruit, pine, 2-row malts and a bit of wood. Taste is tangy hops, pine, honey mustard, grapefruit, bitter floral hops. A little smokey on the tongue and finish but wouldnt expect anything else for the ibuís. Itís a good IIPA.

Golden coppery body, white head. Aroma is very deep with resiny hops and caramelly malt. Very hard bitterness. Flavour has some candies, exotic fruits, resiny hops. Really big and intense beer.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Can. Pours with a solid slightly off-white head with OK retention; hazy golden orange (darker) body. Nicely bitter in the aroma, but with quite a bit of maltiness (less than other East Coast DIPAs). Grapefruit, some slight dank, and herbal/onion note in the aroma. Flavor follows suit, but seems a little drier than suggested in the aroma. Medium to heavier body, and the malt is just a tad too much in this one for my tastes. Not too bad.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
12oz can, with an awesome-looking barcode. Canít find a datestamp on it, but it tastes fresh to me. Nice, thin khaki head that fades a bit. Hazy yellow -orange -amber color. Good lace. This is a unique hop aroma to me, itís in a very specific fruit direction, mango, maybe... I like it. Along with resin in the aroma, of course. Itís a very dry assertive almost biting hop wave. Nice, crisp carbonation, and dry texture. Great, strong bitter taste, little alcohol. Unmistakingly a double IPA.
