COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Itís been less than a year since we released our four core beers in cans, and weíre ecstatic to announce a new addition to the flock. This isnít a seasonal release, like the Autumnation of last fall or Diesel, still going íround this winter. It isnít our upcoming spring seasonal can, either. Itís a never-before-released, big beer in a slim, 12 oz. can with a potent burst of hops and as strong as an ox: Resin. We zeroed in on the botanical structure of the hop cone to get to the essence of this beer. When hops are at their peak maturity, their cores swell up with a sticky, golden, resinous substance that is the flavor you crave from an IPA. WIth an IBU of 103 and ABV of 9.1%, Resin can be loosely described as a double IPA ó but rarely do Sixpoint beers adhere to any strict style demands.

This is a beautiful Double IPA. Fresh floral notes and lots of dry hops in the aroma, very clean taste. At 103 IBU and 9.1% you might expect a lot of alcohol on the palate, but you get lovely hops and a lingering aftertaste.

I really like this. The flavor is just awesome and the finish is so clean, crisp, and bitting it just begs for another taste. The aroma is probably the only let down. I just wanted it to hit me over the head, but it did not. The design on the can gives me the impression of an eastern european vibe. But whatís so good is the sweet juicy hop with tons of resin goodness that is punctuated by a sweet and complimentary malt delivery system. The finish is the best part: bitter, clean, and...wow feel that coating of hop oil? Saint Lupulin, you know what Iím sayiní...

Big huge hop juice beer. Pours orange, clear limited head some clumpy lacing. Nose is very resin, pine. Flavours are resin, fresh pine, fresh citrus and some very light syrup in the back. Taste med/big bitter, light/med sweet with some from fruit some from malt. Full sticky body with lively csrbonation and long lasting bitter.

First off, the can i tested was nearing itīs end of life so to say, not fresh at all but you take what you can. Pours very clear, amber with lively carbonation. Aroma is quite intense as expected, loads of pine citrus and grapefruit. I can only imagine how strong it must have been fresh! Taste is very bitter right from the start and sticks around for a long time, pine tones seem to be the driving force, very dank and, well as the name gives an inkling towards, resiny. Nice mouthfeel. Wish i had a fresh sample of this as i just know how much better it must have been, still top notch Imperial! Can from SB.

Very intensive and strange aroma. Full of fruits and paraffin. Feels a bit like nelson sauvin hops. Golden color, clear, small head, nice lacing. Taste is similar to aroma. Strange paraffin notes. Great bitterness. Unfortunately the alcohol is easily palpable and there is a wet cardboard note. Mouth feel is very good. Nicely carbonated, quite smooth. Very good beer in overall.

Canned (backlog). Orangeish amber colour with a mediumsized white head. Aroma is resin, some tropical fruitiness, sweet malts and also some bready notes. Flavour is very similar with a slight sting of alcohol sweetness as well. Nice bitter finish. Not overdoing the hoppiness, which makes this a quite nice and fresh DIPA.

Crisp and extremely well hopped, great bitterness that opened to a lovely malt. Best beer out of a can I've ever had!

12 oz. can. It had not been refrigerated by Total Wine as requested on the label. Pours a medium, well retained, off white head, over a clear, amber (SRM 10) body.....nose is heavy hops with light pine, resin, citrus, including orange, tangerine, toasted malts, with cereal, biscuit, balance to the hops......taste is slightly sweet, toffee/caramel type cereal, with toast, biscuit notes, floral hop notes, with pine, resin, citrus, including tangerine, orange, leading to a moderate bitter finish.....mouth feel, medium body, alcohol warmth present, carbonation medium to low. After considering that this particular can was not stored by the purveyor as requested by the brewery, the whole paradigm shifted. The 103 IBUís are a bit of a misnomer. Practically all of the hop contribution is in both aroma and flavor not in sheer bitterness. The malts are just present enough to give a bit of sweetness, and toasted malt aroma and taste. The complexity is lovely. BJCP 8/3/15/4/7
