It’s been less than a year since we released our four core beers in cans, and we’re ecstatic to announce a new addition to the flock. This isn’t a seasonal release, like the Autumnation of last fall or Diesel, still going ’round this winter. It isn’t our upcoming spring seasonal can, either. It’s a never-before-released, big beer in a slim, 12 oz. can with a potent burst of hops and as strong as an ox: Resin. We zeroed in on the botanical structure of the hop cone to get to the essence of this beer. When hops are at their peak maturity, their cores swell up with a sticky, golden, resinous substance that is the flavor you crave from an IPA. WIth an IBU of 103 and ABV of 9.1%, Resin can be loosely described as a double IPA — but rarely do Sixpoint beers adhere to any strict style demands.

Brief write-up. This is a rather malty, sweet DIPA, but at the same time, one that’s intensely bitter. Hops don’t seem to provide much apart from aforementioned bitterness, while the malt profile gives off strong notes of toffee and earthiness. The lack of dryness really accentuates how piny the finish is. I’d considering buying it again fresh.

Could not believe i saw this beer at my local grocery store(Krogers @ Swift Creek Midlothian,Va)! Always wanted to try a beer from this Brewery in Brooklyn New York! Bottom of can says BB08DEC2016 and I just bought this on 8/30/16! Red Bull style 12oz. can Tall and Skinny. Poured Amber/Orange Hazy color. Out of the can smelled oranges then the dankness pine resin hops!! First tasting the big smack of bitterness then the sweet malt along with the citrus fruits coming through! Resin lives up to it’s name big pine resin but underneath the sweet malts and tropical fruits Orange orange! Hits all the notes for me! Excellent Beer! I could of drank this all day but at 9.1% abv watch out! I really hope other beers from this brewery make it down to Virginia! Enjoy your Day! Love the Complexity!

Draft sample at BeerTemple during Carnival Brettanomyces 2016. Amsterdam, The Netherlands. 24.06.2016. Pour it golden color with small white head. Aroma herbal, some nuts. Taste herbal as well, quite fruity finish, little bit spoiled, all together not so bad.

On tap. Pours a copper color with moderate head. Aromas of bread dough and toasted malts with a bit of dry jammy fruit. Flavors follow same with a huge malty presence up front and light bitter grass and pine to finish. Maybe a bit of camomile in the middle.

This ale poured an medium Amber colour with a big, creamy head. Scents include hops, hops and more hops. Citrus and grass most prominent. First swig was off the charts hoppy. Very little malt flavour, all hops. You can pretty much pick out all different flavours of hops. Citrus, grass, spruce. Perfect example of an overhopped beer. Finish is hops, palate is hops. Might as well just eat hops and cut out the middleman. How does this get a 97%? You can’t sense or taste anything but hops. Half a can is more than enough...

A resiny hop aroma with notes of caramel and malt. Pours a clear caramel color with a well laced white head. A delicious taste of resiny hops with a hint of sweet malt and caramel. Medium body oily feel with a bitter hop finish.
